It certainly seems that way. I mean, for all I think he can't complain about getting the sack, I'm not quite sure what Abramovich thought he'd do. He was an inexperienced manager who managed to take Derby (in a very brief spell) from 6th all the way to the heady heights of 6th. Was he ever really going to suddenly win leagues and champions leagues for Chelsea? Seems mental appointing him, and giving him all that money to spend. You're probably right, he probably just brought him in to see them through the transfer ban period but, when he arguably over performed, found he couldn't justify sacking him (until now)
I doubt it mate, they have just spent a fortune re branding the name back to Derby County from "Frank Lampards Derby". Chelsea are going through the same process now.

I always think Chelsea have too many egos there, going back to Terry. Abramovich seems to think if you're the manager and a player isn't happy, it's your fault. It's almost a Real Madrid attitude, but where Real has the history to get away with it, Chelsea don't. I doubt Tuchel will last long, the same revolving door after a few poor results or failing to win enough trophies.
Wasn't that f*****g disgraceful. A club like Derby County, with all their history, being denigrated as only relevant because of an ex-Chelsea player ... ... who made absolutely no difference during his time there.
SSN is an absolute joke thought I would watch the transfer hour and all they’ve done is talk about lampard and after the adverts is gonna be more lampard
I've got it on now and it's all they are on about! Asking all the other managers what their opinions on it are.
It's pathetic, it's like he's some kind of God. As a manager he's done nothing, perhaps never will and imo will never manage another top club.
Its mental, just had an Fa cup weekend premier league fixtures coming up. Window open and it’s all about frankie
It's fair game asking other managers when someone like Wenger goes but a young manager who has done nowt doesn't 'deserve' that level of attention imo.
Just had a quick look, 17 of the managers in league 1 have been at their respective clubs for less than a year
Mind boggles at why the likes of Rooney etc want to do it. out of the current crop, Gerrard had the right idea going to Rangers.
Agree and someone at work said the very same as you have. It was a Sky thing that got it going. Same with Steve Gerrard's Rangers. Never known any team be identified by the managers name first as much as these two.
