Most clubs in Europe use this model, it's only in England that it isn't common. I think it's a good move assuming AvB is on board with it. A chairman shouldn't be responsible for signing players imo, the manager should identify areas of the squad and tell the DoF, the DoF can tell look for potential signings and leave the manager to coach the team and & focus on the first team. We can't judge the DoF by Commoli's hit and miss approach.
Like any system It'll work well if its implemented properly and everyone is singing from the same hymnsheet. AVB seems to favour it so as long as he and Baldini can work well in tandem then we shouldn't see any problems should we?
