We are agreeing again Franco its a habit now...We are bestest buddies. Tyson is a legend,I collect anything Tyson, books mags Progs DVD`s ect...not that I can afford anything of value unfortunatelybut after charlton its Tyson for me...then Mig of course !
You and i tend to see eye to we on most things Mike, apart from when the discussion revolves around you know who? Barring David Tua, Tyson was very much the last of that type of heavyweight... Squat, get in close, plant your feet, rarely throw a straight punch (apart from the odd over hand right), predominantly choosing to unload with big hooks to the head and body, For me it was the pure evil intent he put into ever single punch that set him apart... With the little rock left, rock right them boom... upper cut... Zzzzzz... The ace in his hand Imo. How'd you think he'd have coped with these monster heavyweights that are about these days Mike?
In his prime Tyson would of destroyed all of todays sorry crop of heavy weights, and he had an aura about him got many people into boxing transcended the sport...bit like Mig. Watched a few fights yesterday and he still makes the hair on my neck stand up watching him at his best. Agree about the uppercut and he was very good at getting inside and planting it would of loved to of seen him and vlad fight.he would of had him fighting scared and done him in 1.
As promised, here it is. Only one or two of us have to hang our heads in shame (The Valley Redemption, I'm looking at you...)
Was reading about Paulo Maldini on Wikipedia the other week - It stated that he only made 2 tackles per game because he managed to sort out his positioning so well so no tackle was required. I'm not saying that Solly will have the quality of Maldini but he's proving that height means absolute squat during a match and positioning is everything, watch him if a tall player is in front of him winning a header - All Chris will do is drop back slightly and pick up the second ball
Just with the positioning thing, on fm2012 I have a cb who is 5"8 but has 20 positioning, anticipation and pace and high related stats. absolute beast at CB. essentialy saying hieght doesn't matter too much if you can make up for it and IMO solly reads the game well as he is rarely caught out.
I'm just amazed that Francis is in to double figures in terms of votes! For me it's Solly all day long. In fact it would still be Solly even if he had to have a leg amputated. Francis was Imo absolute garbage for us!!
