WWOCB i'd even add Butterfield to that list given we were all but relegated when Parkinson brought him in

Solly / Richardson on about a par
    Francis
    Jenkinson
    Omozusi
    .......
    ......
    .....
    ....
    ...
somewhere down here would be Butterfield. Unforgivable move by Parky to bring in Palace stalwart Butterfield

I'd be happy with Hughes being somewhere between Solly and Francis

I would definitely have Butterfield there <ok> . Minus Frank Nouble last year, Butterfield has to be the worst player I've ever seen in a Charlton shirt.

Just goes to show what happens when you join a struggling team though, as butterfield went on to be a useful player for south coast club last year.

Cheers for adding the link Tewks <ok>

I found it quite shocking personally, I thought Parky's philosophy was to only bring in good honest players and get rid of all the horrid ones, seems he added one to the club with the loan signing of Omozusi.

Super, good point. I'm sure its probably crossed many peoples minds that Butterfield was an agent working for Jordan <laugh> either that or Saints fans (much unlike ourselves) gave him a chance and didn't boo him every time his name was read out/he touched the ball.

Oddly I was thinking of Mooney whilst naming 'worst ever footballers in a Charlton shirt', but there's no denying that he did manage to score a few goals, yes they were all tap-ins and the like but Frank 'where's the ball? Oh its rolling down my back' Nouble, and Danny Butterfield just beat him to the top two spots.

Its odd, Nouble seems to be loved at Gills, and Butterfield done a decent job at Palace and Soto, but both were terrible for us. Anyone know if Orient fans rate Mooney?

Didn't Mooney score one really good goal for us, a top drawer finish that made you wonder if there was a decent player there?

Nouble was hopeless, but I didn't think Butterfield was that bad, you could hardly look at the rest of the defence and pick him out as the weak link costing us all the goals. If he'd have come on loan from Ipswich, he'd have been lumped in with all the opther so so loanees.

Isn't Omozusi in trouble for attempted Murder, or chasing someone who witnessed a murder, which was committed by one of his gang mates? Or so I read on the way home in the Metro.

David Mooney, I didn't think was that bad (not the best, just average). Did try hard, but cannot blame him for some of the misses, the crowd really did get on his back, which must have hurt his confidence.

Yep- omo is a right coward. He and his friends chased a witness somewhere up north. In the evidence it was proved he was a gang member of some London gang.

Ashamed he ever played for us.

How would Parky have known about this anyway and didn't it happen after he'd left the club in the same way that the Leyton Orient manager wouldn't know about this criminal activity. I hope he gets punished accordingly.

Charltonpat, I'm sure Omozusi didn't turn into a naughty boy over night, he must be a horrible person to do something like that, Parky should have noticed he was a horrible person when signing him as part of his 'bunch of honest lads'.

I disagree with some posts saying that David Mooney did try, I felt it was the opposite, he hesitated anytime a defender stood in front of him and always backed off when a defender got the ball/never chased them down. The only goals he ever scored were tap ins due to his phobia of trying to take defenders on (though I think a previous poster was correct - there was one exception).

Remember mooney getting a few decent headers, plus a beauty against Swindon. He did try, can't say he didn't close down as that's pretty much all he did do.

i think criticizing players from last year would leave us going on for ages. we were just a sh*t team last year. its probably better to say "cheers" and let them move on with no grudges. Francis in this example was playing with a couple of granddads next to him and a midfield who couldnt retain possession. I think he'd have done ok this year given a game or so. but seeing as i prefer home grown players i'm glad he didnt and solly got the place. benson may have done ok too, but he's getting on a bit and the 3 we have now are younger and better.

I can think of 3 very good goals Mooney scored:

The beauty in the play-off semi against Swindon
Against Gillingham at home, when surrounded by 3 defenders he worked a yard of space and fired it into the roof of the net
Against Yeovil, from a cross the ball swept home.

(I do also remember the horrific miss away at Southend, when there was only one defender on the line to beat)

For my money he's a decent enough player at League 1 level. Sometimes he didn't put enough effort in (if the ball went long to him he would hardly ever challenge for it) and he really didn't like the Charlton fans I don't think. But he's not as bad as some make out.
