If people want to act as if we had a great game and are happy with it then so be it Fact is, we will need to step up if we want to go into the next round. Hart had a good game, Cole and Johnson were kept busy, Terry and Lescott did their jobs, Parker and Gerrard both did the same role so 1 of them was bound to not get alot of the ball, Milner was very average, Oxlade Chamberlain looked special going foward but he can't defend for s**t he wouldn't stick with their RB and do his defensive duty, Young and Welbeck both went missing.
It wasn't a great game, but for the most part the players did the job Roy sent them out to do, and as such the result wasn't a fluke. I think the pressure will build against Sweden, because the press will see a draw as a better achievement for Sweden than for England.
I didn't say Milner had a good game, just that I preferred his approach. The stats I've seen of the game don't appear to back up your assessment either as Milner made more tackles than Johnson and Chamberlain combined. But yes, when you get forward, like Milner did, it does leave a gap. The other option, that Chamberlain took, was to take few risks, resulting in no crosses, no shots, in fact very little of note at all. It surprised me because I'd have expected it to be the otherway round with Chamberlain getting forward more.
Chamberlain and Milner were both a bit ****. Chamberlain barely touched the ball, and gave it away when he did. Milner was just Milner at his uninspiring and technically inept worst, not to mention that miss.
