I was making a point about England, it's not in the least bid odd. Besides it doesn't actually matter whether you believe they deserved it or not, they won it. As for finishing 3rd in the group, so what ....... they were the rules for every team at the start of the tournament.
That would not be odd at all if you had come out with that statement and i would agree with you. However, you presumably was responding to me directly as you bolded and highlighted my post on how i mentioned Portugal were undeserving winners in my opinion and went onto mention if England had won, they would have been praised (to be fair you said others rather than me directly) so i presumed you were talking about me in particular . Thats why i said it was odd as i already did praise Portugal for that exactly. As for finishing 3rd, i know it's part of the rules and have acknowledged that, it still doesn't mean i don't think they fully deserve it such as i don't think it was very fair that my team Chelsea were the first CL champions in London even though we were abysmal and finish 6th in the league that season. The history record will remember Portugal as the winners and that will be what counts though.
Technically and tactically Portugal are a very good side, if Belgium of France had half the desire and organisation they could have walked it with the squads at their disposal, I recon England should sound out their manager and leave us with Big Sam. PS I don't like the step over kid either for all the reasons stated on this entertaining thread. Sunderland forever.
Whoever wins deserves to win cos they found a way to win. That's that surely? Portugal found a way to win.
