Precisely. The fact is, we fans know that if we concede then we probably won't win. If we ever concede in the first 10 minutes, it essentially renders the rest of the match pointless.

And my point is,why on earth does he constantly bang about Fryatt being ****,when we have truly **** players to get obsessed about if that's what he wants to do ? Why Fryatt and not Mclean for instance ? Mcshane is a ****ing parasite on this club but no,he targets our one proven goal scorer. I don't get it sorry !

Anyone think that it may be the format we`re playing rather then personnel, yes Fryatt scored 16 but with the chances he missed could and really should have had 25+, however compare that to McLean`s strike rate and you can see the point being made. Campbell when here fed off Deano in his time here, and flourished. When I have seen him in the premier league he has looked decent without looking like the kid that knocked them in for fun here. Perhaps the Championship really is his level, but he is at the very top of that level. I can`t help thinking that two wide men capable of hitting the line and providing a half decent delivery would benefit us massively. I have mentioned this in another thread, and am scratching my head to see how we could possibly fit Koren into this. Perhpas someone who has adecnt football brain, in Campbell would provide the runs for Koren to find, I don`t know, but what I do know is that Brucie has to find an answer to our goal drought p.d.q or we could be left behind.

Someone else brought him up and I responded, not saying he's **** or that I hate him but that it wouldn't make much difference. It's blatantly obvious why, I've already been through it step by step for you so I won't explain again. It's getting ****ing ridiculous on here lately that you can't say **** all about somoene if it happens to be somebody else's favourite.

I've already said on this thread and several times before that I don't think Fryatt is ****. He makes good runs and his linkup play is good. My only qualm with him is that he is at best wildly inconsistent in front of goal. I completely agree with you that McShane is **** but there's no need for debate there because we all agree he's ****. The reason we end up talking about Fryatt a lot is that there is a disagreement. If we all just agree then the debate is over in seconds. If you and others can't bear to read me suggest that Fryatt's finishing is poor (which by the way I wasn't even talking about here) just because you disagree then that's a problem with your conversation skills not mine. Also, it's totally obvious to a lot of people why I believe that, but some just want to keep their heads in the sand and pretend he's perfect. He's a good player at this level but a million miles off someone like Rickie Lambert or Billy Sharp when it comes to converting simple chances and particularly one-on-ones and whatever you want to think, it did cost us a hell of a lot last season.

If Fryatt scored every chance he got like some Pete seem to think he should he'd be playing 90 minutes week in week out in a man city shirt. Whilst I agree some of te chances he fluffed he really should of scored, he made up for that by scoring goals he really had no right to score, Barnsley at home to finish his hat trick when he skinned one defender twice then another defender and even took it round the keeper for example. It's not just a matter of beig clearly weaker in front of goal finishing wise without Fryatt, we miss a whole dimension of clever forward movement, positional play and holding on to the ball at the right end of the pitch without him. His 16 goals last season prove he is the best striker and finisher at the club, even a better finisher than Koren who himself missed some incredible sitters last season including open goals which no one ever mentions, can't remember Fryatt missing an open goal. We are clearly weaker without him up front it's a glaring fact. Rooney missed some criminal clear scoring chances at the euros and he's up amongst the worlds best, even Messi misses from time to time, it happens.

The only thing that annoys me about Fryatt is that he went on a hot run of goals as soon as we fell out of contention for the play-offs, not sure how many he got but it was at least four or five and makes his stats look a bit better than they are. In a better team with more service he would score more, fingers crossed we have that now.

No his stats are exactly how the look, just because the playoffs became unrealistic before he went and scored a few doesn't mean those goals don't count the same as the first 4 or 5. They were still competitive league games he scored in.

    Great post.

Fryatt is a top striker. Granted, he misses some chances, but look at McLean and Simpson... They both need 10 chances before they score. Fryatt has that clinical edge and to get 16 goals in what was a very small squad that couldn't score last Season, marks his clear talent.

If he was in this squad, he'd be contending in the top 5 goalscorers already IMO.
