Not exactly, contracts can be longer than 5 years but can only be written off over 5 years. The rule will be applied sometime over the summer, how vague.
Probably means that some clubs will be able to interpret the rule, so that it doesn't apply to any signings made in autumn, winter or spring
Hopefully MB doesn’t have a Machiavellian nature about his personality, the irony of replacing Lampard might have appealed to someone with a wicked side to their humour.
Everton/Bielsa talks still ongoing ... Bielsa wants £1m per month for him and his entire backroom team until end of season ... not negotiable, Everton will have to sack all their coaching staff to make space for Bielsa's team ... this is now the only stumbling block, Everton need to find the money or walk away ... they want a manager in by Friday latest
Could be outstanding news for us… are we able to cancel Dan james’ loan deal and flog him to Everton for £30m+
This sums up my view on why bielsa would have been all wrong for Everton at this time. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...RIBLE-fit-Everton-chances-hed-taken-down.html
Yeah, it's a decent article. FWIW if they gave him a promise of the job in summer with an interim manager to finish this season, Bielsa would have had the time to implement everything he needed including the squad changes. But Bielsa taking charge of a side at the bottom in February would have been a disaster all around. Interesting segment on Weghorst too underneath. Burnley signed him last January. We were playing James up front and I remember the club saying that the right players weren't available. I was mocked for pointing out Bournemouth signing Kieffer Moore for 6 million and Burnley signing Weghorst for 12 million. Both would have kept us up more comfortably last season. They were the right type of player for us at that time. Just like Weghorst for scum now.
Weghorst was a good signing for Burnley last season and if he'd be able to add a few goals to his all round contribution then they'd probably have stayed up. No that's wrong, they definitely would have stayed up and we'd have gone down. Kieffer Moore is just a slow donkey and we were 100% correct not to be interested.
Weghorst did keep us up! Some timely sitters missed at key moments. His career goalscoring record is pretty damn good, he just picked a timely period for us to have a drought.
