Yet again, shortcuts being taken in the Academy set-up. Why hire an established, quality coach when you can get NAYLS WOT THE FANS USED TO LUV along with SUPER DUPER REDDERS. Leeds fans' infatuation with ex-players being exploited by Harvey or whichever dunce is still handling things while the takeover is still ongoing. Our immediate catchment area goes from Middlesbrough to Sedbergh to Hebden Bridge to Dronfield to Hull and back up the East Coast. That's the biggest in the country. So why is our academy only capable of producing Championship-quality players? These new owners had better take it as a serious priority to get it back on its feet and stop joking around with the unexperienced, the unprofessional and the ineffective employees we've currently got there. And please don't anyone say it should be Radebe to ****ing take it over.
You know what Jerel, I reckon I know how to sort out the academy ****ing appoint Radebe, he'd be awesome and he'd really get it going again....
The academy has been allowed to fall off the radar as all the best coaches were either offered jobs with premier league clubs, or were given the boot to save money. Tumbleweed blows about the place as the medical staff were sacked and the accomodation blocks closed, which meant housekeepers etc also lost their jobs. Our academy director decided to go to Man City and run their academy, and he also took with him his number 2 who looks after Yorkshire. This bloke has all the contacts for schools and kids football clubs in the area and anyone who's any good is taken to Man City and put on their books, whilst being trained in Yorkshire. When our guys walked to City they also took with them 3 of our best academy prospects, and Bates got the FA to make City pay him £1m. TA/ER need to be bought back and our academy needs some investment again, so that our future is healthy as the kids come through the ranks, instead of spending millions on players. Bates and his lackeys were actually charging parents to have their kids coached, he ran it as a business to make more cash and even if the kid was useless it made no difference as bates was quids in. Wilko and Harte invented the UK version, which was a massive success, and now copied by all the top prem clubs. Sad that mansfield town have a better academy than us now ffs
Repped Doc, you got a great way of words and probably summed up how rotten to the core we are right now. And it goes unnoticed when a team churns out results to a certain extent but on and off the pitch we need rebuilding from grass roots all the way up.I hope to god we get a takeover and the board/owners see what a goldmine there sitting on if this club was run properly.
Bucks, yer git SK Brann CEO Brunn-Hansen has confirmed a bid has been tabled by Leeds United for Jamaican midfielder Rodolph Austin. Speaking to Norwegian news outfit BA, SK Brann’s CEO confirmed a bid had been made but refused to comment further. Reports in Norway suggest the bid was for 2,000,000 Kroner, which is roughly £200,000, but SK Brann’s price-tag is almost double that figure. Jamaican international Austin looks to be a tough-tackling midfield warrior capable of surging runs that cut through opposition defences. He will require a work permit to work in the UK but this shouldn’t be an issue as he is a regular feature of the Jamaican international team.
