His performnce is nothing to do with his injury In regards to Shaw, I don't want him starting just yet - did anyone see him at Stevenage?
Groin strains often go unnoticed when they happen and flare up as fluid moves around. He could have been fine immediately after the match and started feeling it later. I wouldn't be surprised if Scotland send him back.
If Arsene has any sense he'd play chambo since they grew up together chambo would know how to beat Shaw, although I spose that works both ways.
No more than we'll bleed goals with Fox out there allowing his man past him 50% of the time (usually when we lose possession and he's too far up the pitch), and standing 10 yards off and letting the cross into the centre the other half of the time. I've nothing against him before you ask.... thought he was a really good player in the Champ where we could afford the luxury of a LB who bombed on with good distribution, but at Prem level I struggle to see how we can utter the words 'Fox' and 'Defender' in the same sentence. Admittedly he's not the only one who's struggling with the step up, but the others appear to be making honest mistakes while trying to do the right thing. Fox appears to me to be the one who struggles with actually understanding and carrying out the core basic responsibilities of his position. His name may as well be Daniel Out Of Position Fox! Lat
Fox hasn't been great either so we don't have much to lose by playing Shaw. It's fair to say that he had a hard time against Stevenage, but Seaborne didn't make it easy for him and he improved as we grew into the game. Put him in a team with 10 experienced and capable players and I think we'll be able to fully appreciate what he can do.
