It called football, managers try and sign players they like. Its part and parcel of the game. Were doing nothing wrong and your well with in your rights to do what your doing. You along with me know full well Nigel doesnt do his business in the media so the think you need to work out who is leaking the info. Adam Pearson cried to the media when we bid for Cameron Stewart
How many times do your club need to be knocked back for it to finally sink in ??? your management must be as thick as pig **** !
No-one is implying that Pearson's "not allowed" to go for our players - I just think he's a little too obsessed with his past clubs, same as he was when he went for practically every player on Leicester's books when he was here. I mean, lot's of managers are, but not usually to this extent. Anyway, if Walsh is capable of finding the likes of Stewart for £300k, I'm surprised Pearson's after Stewart for around £2m when he could probably find another one somewhere for less than £1m.
To be fair to Nigel, Rosenior was his find, out of contract, no interest from other clubs, Nigel saw something in him and the gamble paid off. It was probably his only decent signing, everyone else was either; 1. Proven at this level already - Koren, Fryatt...etc 2. Brought in through our man united links - Evans, Stewart...etc 3. A gamble that didn't pay off - Mclean, Adebola...etc Shame he won't be taking him to Ladyboy FC!
In what way was Rosenior not proven at this level? Unless you think 96 games in the Premiership doesn't qualify to be proven at this level.
Not true. He turned down both QPR and Liverpool when Hodgson was there as he knew at this stage of his career he needed to be first choice and he wouldnt get much game time at either. Also, he wasnt really Nige's find cos Liam wrote to him asking for a trial.
How true is this? It was also reported at the time he had trials with other championship clubs that decided they didn't want him.
What do you mean 'how true is it'? Sorry - I now understand the confusion, I didnt state FACT..... Well it's FACT that both DQPR and Liverpool offered him deals but he knew he would be second choice at DQPR and about 6th choice at Liverpool, neither of which was any good to him. It's also FACT that he wrote to us asking for a trial rather than being courted.
At the time it was reported that he had some offers, but held out for a bigger club contract and didn't get one, so was left clubless.
We was about to sign Rosenior so there was interest. We called the deal off at the 11th hour after we sacked the manager
No that would qualify him to be proven at premiership level wouldn't it? There are plenty of players who have played in the premiership that you wouldn't think we're fit for Hull City. Just stating that he wasn't exactly in high demand at the time, he only ever played half seasons at Reading, was loaned out and then released.
Just sounded like the sort of gossip you read about all the time that's all. If it is FACT as you state I'm sure there'll be articles online detailing as much.
Do you honestly think all news is reported? I would suggest that, at best, about 1% of stories relating to football and footballers are covered across online, broadcast and print media.
Which makes your assumption that it is 'fact' far less substantial, unless you know Liam, his agent, or the chairmen of the clubs involved your simply regurgitating rumours. You may be completely correct and but neither I nor you have information to confirm or deny this and as such it is most definitely not fact.
Actually, you have a point on reflection, I just happened to believe the player when he told me but he could have been lying. Point taken.
I wasn't trying to start a debate, apologies for that. I have no reason to doubt you and having heard it from a player your basing it more reliable sources than most. I'd just never heard it before that's all.
To clear up BCC's comments, it is true that Rosenior contacted the club for a trial after Nigel Pearson took over. That isn't rumour, it is a fact that has been confirmed by Rosenior many times in the past, it's not a big secret! And as for the OP, I don't see anything strange about Pearson wanting to sign the best right back in the division.
Dont see any of our players going to Lesta especially after what they said when NP left us for them. No need to panic as like with the Ins there will be no Outs until a manager is in place. More chance of Papa Allam admitting he got it wrong in sacking Barmby,, imo. Poor poor Nigel. Just unable to let go of the past.
Nick Barmby had on his To Do List, New contracts for Liam Rosenoir - James Chester - Cory Evans and Robbie Koren. This needs to be done the moment a new manager is in place.
