Or you could try reading the responses on a thread you created to realise I'd already pointed out that I'd mis-read it <doh>

I did also point out that despite it looking like a benefit to us this season, the demise of the club having fallen out of the CL has been massive. Yet you think dropping out would somehow be a good thing <doh>

PS...yes, I just <doh> you again. Twice! :)

The bit in bold? Bollocks. I said or think nothing of the sort.

If you're going to try take make yourself look bright by facepalming me at least do it with some basis of evidence.

What I actually said, if you could be arsed to read and digest it, was that you not being in the Europa league has done you no harm at all in pursuit of fourth place. That's it.

Never once mentioned the champions league in relation to Liverpool. I couldn't care a monkeys if Liverpool not being in the champions league bankrupts them. Irrelevant to this thread.

It's about how not making fourth affects US and should we not make it maybe not making the Europa would be of benefit. Not too difficult, everyone else managed to grasp it.

<ok>

I wouldn't go as far as to say we need to win every game, but we certainly need to be winning the games were expected to, like away at Stoke at the weekend. I think we can afford to drop points against Arsenal and City, and still get 4th. Don't forget Liverpool still have to play Man City, Arsenal Chelsea, and Spurs. The game against Liverpool at home though is a must win for us:biggrin:

All at home mate, bring them on

On our day I fancy us to cause anyone problems

You didn't cause Southampton or Villa many problems at home<whistle>

Everton was the first good side in pretty good form to play you at Anfield so your record there is mainly built on spanking the dross. That said, I can't call it for Arsenal there... could easily go either way I think. Much might depend on who we both sign in the next 36 hours.

Neither did you with Villa

Wasnt our day, 2nd half v Villa we were better

Spanking the dross as you say well thats something we have struggled with in the past. And I wouldnt call them dross either, as proven alot of the 'smaller' teams are competing in games against the bigger teams in games

Whilst you have them all at home, it means you don't have as many home bankers that you did in the first part of the season. It's easy to beat the smaller clubs at home, but away from home is entirely different.

Id be surprised if you get 6 points against the 4 big teams you play at home, so then your gonna have to rely on getting results away from home against the smaller teams

You'd have bet on you winning those wouldn't you?

No bankers anymore, you have to turn up with 100% effort <ok>

Liverpools names already on the 4th placed shield.

More chance of arsenal winning the league and city making a legitimate profit than there is on liverpool not finishing 4th.

No no no im not saying we will definitely do it but we haven't had a good a chance as this for ages

Our attack just fills me with confidence! When it clicks its awesome to watch which is why I say, on our day we can give anyone a game <ok>

I also pointed out that I'd mis-read you in the first place but you somehow managed to "miss" that and decided to act like a arse in response <doh> (have another :p)

I just find it odd that you'd prefer Man Utd not to be in Europe at all. Fair point that us not being in Europe as helped us challenge this season but 9/10 fans would snap your arm off to be in the Europa League too, never mind CL (yes, I know you didn't mention it <doh> <whistle>)

PS...just in case you've not picked up on it, I'm intentionally facepalming you as you reacted so badly to it <laugh>

Yeah, righto. We've had this type of discussion before, where you're wrong but don't accept it yet claim I'm being an arse. Everyone is familiar with this so feel free to keep digging.

What's odd about feeling the Europa league would be detrimental in us aiming fully for champions league qualification next season?

I admitted I was wrong immediately after my first comment <doh>

I didn't say that was odd, I said its odd that you prefer Man Utd not to be in Europe.

As a one off, one season, situation yes.

And, sorry to be a pedant and all, you continued to reckon I said being out of the champions was of benefit after your initial back track.

Just making that clear is all. As that would be plain daft.

I only responded to comments made after <ok>

I agree it makes it easier to concentrate on the league if you're not in Europe. However, fans don't care about the Europa League but players do, not being in Europe (even the Europa League) effects the types of players you can attract. But, if you get the players you want in early enough then that shouldn't be a problem; aka Mata <ok>

Of course, from a Liverpool perspective, us not willing to offer as much money as offers doesn't help either <laugh>

Man I admire Liverpools resolve in getting that all important 4th place. What a great team. The 4th place Champions!
