If he means everyone on their board , I wear it as a badge of honour , proper scum I don't know why bother going over there
I have no problem with Terry. I've never met him to like him or not. From what I've seen of the incident on YouTube I am led to the conclusion that what he says is correct and the court case should be the end of it. I don't think Terry is a racist at all. As for the suarez, evra affair, if the FA had evidence of racist abuse why did they not hand it into the police as a criminal matter?? Doesn't make sense to me....
It would appear there are a few of us thinking along those lines. (although I don't like John Terry!) Well said.
Well seeing as its ok to have a racist captain, the fans have taken to racially abusing their own players. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19670097
According to Terry he only repeated what Anton Ferdinand said to him. Hence, you know...why he was found not guilty? Or did you not hear the outcome of the trial?
Direct quote from Terry. "I was very angry and I was upset. I replied 'a black ****, you ****ing knobhead'". Even the judge doubts his story. "Riddle said: "Mr Terry's explanation is, certainly under the cold light of forensic examination, unlikely. It is not the most obvious response. It is sandwiched between other undoubted insults.""
Not that I wish to get drawn into this endless farce but it was more lack of evidence i.e. one's word against another's than he being definitely proven to be repeating what Ferdinand said, which isn't particularly plausible. It would help if people could be given a 'not proven' verdict as they are in Scotland as 'not guilty' muddies the waters between unproven and innocent.
Had the trial been in Scotland, there's no doubt that a 'Not Proven' verdict would have been given. The judge certainly had grave doubts over John Terry's version of events (he said as much in his summing up) but English law only allows guilty or not guilty, based on 'beyond reasonable doubt'. Scotland allows a middle ground, where it is apparent that a lower berden of proof - so 'in all probability' rather than 'beyond reasonable doubt' - would have led to a Not Proven verdict. Where John Terry may well come unstuck on Monday is that the FA do have this lower level of proof, so the outcome of the hearing is by no means certain to follow the court case. However, we'll see on Monday.
Of course he wasn't repeating what Ferdinand said to him. Only an imbecile would believe that. He said what we know he said and Ferdinand said what we know HE said. A row on the field between a pair of prima donnas which escalated out of all sense of proportion to the actual event and morphed into this year-long, media-driven charade. The pair of them should be convicted of being a couple of twats. But yes, he was found not-guilty in Court and we await the verdict of the FA. Whatever that is, hopefully this whole sorry saga will finally be put to bed.
It won't end between Terry and Ferdinand unless and until Terry apologises. He won't do that in public, but you have to wonder if someone of authority took the pair aside and Terry made a private apology, the matter might be resolved. Can't see time healing this one otherwise...
