I think the biggest thing letting the series down at the moment is the circuits. That track makes Valencia look like racing heaven. The whole thing is massively work in progress and hopefully they'll not fall into F1's trap of 'pleasing fans', since no one really ever knows which fans the FIA are thinking of when they tinker with F1.
They still haven't got a race to replace the one in Rio. and they haven't got long to sort it out. I can see why they only want street tracks in cities. There's a lot of air pollution in cities, and electric cars would be at home in a city to compensate for that. However, there are a lot better tracks to use. They are going to Long Beach and Monte Carlo, which is a good start, but why set up a race track in a city when the track layout is so bad. Who wants chicane in the middle of a straight? They should have had a 'reserve' track, in case there were issues like those at Rio. Maybe a track like SIlverstone or the Circuit de Catalunya. Tracks that we know are very safe to race on, and can be quickly used as a last resort without too much hassle in terms of organisation. That being said, the race was fairly enjoyable. There was some great racing up and down the field. The series has potential, let's just hope the FIA don't waste it
Really enjoyed the race, it was much better that I was expecting. Obviously some teething problems, and I hope that these are sorted out soon. The only common I have is that I thought that the cars are a little fragile, there were a number of taps that broke the front suspension. And lastly, I loved the pit stops, they were great, but I dislike the time limit, it'll be more exciting without. But I suppose I can see a safety issue with that, as it would be temping to rush the driver out before the belts are done up correctly.
The London track has been released (officially or not). That might be the blandest attempt at a racetrack I've ever seen.
NASCAR called, they want their designer back. Oh dear, seriously? I hope the scenery brightens it up.
Wow, you really weren't lying when you said it was bland. Looks like someone fried an egg and drew around the whites of it.
I'm not too surprised at the reaction shown here (so far) about the London circuit. However, after the event, I think most people will view this as better than most of Fe's inaugural circuits. Yes. Seriously. It should allow the cars to show their full 140 mph (ish) potential and for drivers to prove their worth in several different places.
I'm shocked and appalled by that circuit. I thought Formula E was a series for right angle enthusiasts
I like the look of it as a race track, plenty of time to be lost or gained around there. It's not 'aesthetic', but from a driving eye it looks fast and fun.
Copenhagen looks set to fill the gap in the calendar, with this the proposed circuit: please log in to view this image Probably my favourite so far, although I may be biased as I know that area of Copenhagen is stunning.
why is everyone inspired by Sochi EDIT: Like, seriously, I've watched Burn Notice. Miami's a great place. You can do better than that. Come on.
A very good race. Bird found perfection. Senna overtakes prost and we saw the trulli train. The circuit was decent. Tight but the drivers were not afraid to make moves which often ended in crashes. Another good show for F-e
