I guess whilst it's still new, they have to get the balance right between how quick the cars will be and how long the batteries can be kept charged for.
Yeah, it's a 25 minute range at the moment, with (I believe?) the weird car-swapping rule to get decent length races. The aim is that within a few seasons batteries will last the whole race, and then presumably they can look to up the power.
ITV have full coverage rights, with quali and the race meant to be on ITV4 I think. Fairly sure it's just an international feed though with worldwide commentators. Lead commentator is Jack Nicholls, with Dario Franchitti co-commentator, Robert Llewellyn as technical expert and Nicki Shields as anchor.
Super Aguri have had a bit of a rebrand. They'll now be known as Amlin Aguri, and have announced Katherine Legge as one of their drivers, the first female driver announced for Formula-E. please log in to view this image Gone are the familiar Super Aguri colours too.
Nah. F1 is too big to be taken over. I think you'll see technology from Formula E making it's way over to F1 though.
I think that depends on how quickly the F-E technology develops, and for how much longer Bernie (or his successor) keeps trying to run F1 into the ground. At the moment F-E cars won't have the range or top end speed to steal too many F1 fans, but the (hopefully) close racing should generate interest. If within 10 years the cars can develop to the point of racing for over an hour at speeds hitting 200mph, then F1 might have reason to worry. I think the problem will be whether the series can continue for 10 years without greatly increased income, from a big TV deal or otherwise. It's currently going to get similar exposure to Touring Cars, which is fine whilst its a spec series, but not when development costs are factored in. Latest driver announcements: Venturi have gone for the experienced duo of Nick Heidfeld and Stephane Sarrazin. China racing have also unveiled their, rather cheap looking, livery: please log in to view this image
Can I peel them stickers off? Heidfeld has joined Venturi GP, as I have now just read in your post hahaha.
All they need to do now is drop the stupid twitter boost bullshit and i'll be more excited for this series than F1 2015.
It's exactly what it sounds like, sadly. The drivers who get the most "votes" on sites like twitter get given a few extra seconds of the "push to pass" setting. It's a gimmick Bernie would be proud of.
Yeah, that's the only cloud hovering over this project really. I'm not convinced it'll actually stay though, because it's pretty unworkable.
