Grand Prix thread Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix 2021

On C4 David C is driving an old Red Bull but it has Honda plastered all over the rear wing. Surely it has a Renault PU? I guess it's all branding but even so, I'm not sure they should be changing the logos.

 

Very unconvinced by this sprint format for Sunday pole - removes the joy of a single brilliant lap in qualifying. Use Friday Q for grid, then have a twenty lap sprint on Sat, half points, in reverse championship order for excitement.

 

Here we go, first Sprint Quali race. Hope it's a good one.

 

Bottas, both Alpines and Kimi all on Softs, rest seem mediums.

 

Mercedes split strategies? Is that for the first time?

 

I think it is a very rare occasion but they have to take everything they can to get Lewis to win. Bottas knows he's out next year but they do seem to have something to keep him playing ball.

2 second lead is a little concerning for Merc.

 

If they get beaten at silverstone they're ****ed, Max will be WDC.

Only thing that could do Max now is if his tyres croak.
