If what I have read us correct , this is just about asking for an appeal to be granted . So no final decisions ( ref penalties ) yet .n Seriously ? I meant seriously ref BLS comment . How I managed to double quote I will.never know . Ant punishment for RBR ?
They worded it fancily, but they had Perez in a simulator and Albon in a tyre test prove Hamilton dived in recklessly. That seriously was their new angle.
Well....If that's accurate... I'm absolutely flabbergasted. (Needed an excuse to use that word.. doesn't get an outing nearly enough.)
Stewards have officially rejected the petition for providing no new evidence. Yep, Red Bull literally had nothing other than data from Albon and slides showing the Hamilton pass on Leclerc. There's also this rather cryptic line... "The Stewards note, with some concern, certain allegations made in the Competitor's above letter. Such allegations may or may not have been relevant to the Stewards if the Petition for Review had been granted. The Stewards may have addressed these allegations directly in any decision that would have followed. The Petition having been dismissed, the Stewards make no comments on those allegations." Maybe there's another explanation, but reading that I get the impression Red Bull accused Lewis of causing a high-speed crash on purpose.
Seems like Red Bull gave FIA a power point presentation with their own gps data, Perez in their sim and they went to the trouble of getting Albon to Silverstone in a 2019 car!!!! So they are whining at £1.3mill damage so they spend thousands more on an appeal that was based on nothing really..... Hope FIA double check their 2021 accounts to ensure they did add the cost of their appeal to their running costs..... It just get more ludicrous....
I really am taken aback.... I thought for sure they must have some nugget that might just push it their way, or at least some consideration? But this? And again the accusation it was intentional... You don't try take play demolition derby with a 30pt deficit... You MIGHT consider it holding a 30pt lead.... So, who potentially had the most to gain from a pair of cars in the kitty litter?
Glad we can put this behind us now and get back to some racing. But boy, this whole thing is embarrassing for Red Bull. This'll stick with them.
So it's basically been RBR's Hail Mary attempt to sow some seeds, and influence how the stewards 'police' HAM for the rest of the season. Their equivalent of "He's been doing it all game, ref"
