Jack Marriott has signed a one month loan with Carlisle, good luck to the boy really felt he could have been dangerous.
Connor Essam has been released by Crawley Town. Wonder if we could see him back at Gillingham. Got to be honest it was one of the biggest mistakes that Martin Allen made getting rid of him as he looked like someone who would become a decent centre back. http://www.crawleytownfc.com/news/article/01.09-connor-essam-leaves-1889618.aspx
But how good is Connor if Crawley don't want him either? I see he has now signed for Dover. Good luck to him anyway.
I know technically not an ex gillingham player but Daggers have just signed a young lad from Chatham Town: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29178492 Don't know much about him but must have a bit of talent if they have brought him in! Hopefully he does well but not too well!
Elliot Hewitt has joined Colchester United on a one month's loan and is set to be in the squad for their JPT game against us tonight.
Andrew Crofts (amazingly now 30 ) is out for rest of season at Brighton after sustaining a second knee injury in ten months.
Former Gills striker Mamady Sidibé is on trial with Southend http://gillsconnect.com/s/Gills_New..._GILLS_INTERNATIONAL_STRIKER_AT_SOUTHEND.html
Funny how things change in football. Three years ago we were in competition with The Swine to sign Birch from Dover. On Sat he could only make the bench for Bromley in their FA Cup game.
Nyron has signed a short term deal with Blackpool, didn't know he was a free agent wouldn't have minded him at the back again
3 goals in 4 games I heard. What is it about defenders who play or have played for Gillingham and scoring goals.
A colleague at work who supports Hyde (yes, there are some people who are even more worse off than us!) has pointed out that John Hills is now first team coach at Hyde and on Saturday oversaw their first clean sheet this season, and their second league win - the other one was in September. They're only 11 points from safety now....
Reading on Sky Sport app that Jah Wright has been released by Millwall. http://www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/article/josh-wright-millwall-2184043.aspx
17 minutes left of the transfer window, QPR in talks to sign Matt Jarvis (probably on loan) and Southampton are in talks to turn Bertrand's loan permanent (which we would make money on).
What exactly happened with Ashley Miller? I know he's moving around non-league local sides but I wonder why he was never rated by Allen or Taylor. I wasn't able to see him play with my own eyes, was he someone that seemed the real deal or did expectations inflate due to the links to Liverpool? I catch glimpses of recent reports showing that he is scoring goals down there but wonder if he is going to be another player we regret releasing.
I know Wikipedia isn't the best of sources but this blew me away! Brent Sancho (our only ever World Cup starter) has just been made the Minister of Sport in the current government of Trinidad and Tobago. Politics eh? Playing under Cooper and Jepson readies you for the oddest of things.
