Hi Gasheads Just thought I would post this For some time now I have been saying that you cannot in this league play Cary and Any at the same time in midfield as whilst they are great going forward they provide absolutely no help for the defence and that leaves two midfielders high and dry. Since Cary and Harrold have been injured North and latterly Mcghee have been left with no option but to play Ani up front on his own which provides the extra coverage in midfield for defence that is requied at this level. I am over the moon that we have strung two wins and a draw together but it has been partly by luck not selection as when fit Cary ANI and Harrold were selected by Chuckle. I hope that when both are fit that we do not play the same formation that puts pressure on the defence and leaves us wide open to conceding goals. Luck and injuries have played a big part in getting the formation and players right long may it continue.Maybe playing for contracts with a new manager has also helped!! and the McGhee factor Do you agree >?? COR
You're spot on. I would prefer us to grind out results like the last few than this "more exciting" out and out attacking which leaves us too exposed at the back.
Yep agree, at the moment getting points on the board is the number one consideration. McGhee can get us playing attractive football next season, when we get promoted.
we also got gill and brown back from injuries too. were playing wing backs at the moment so tring to add carayol to that formation will be hard.
Good news to have more options to stiffen up the midfield, agree about the wingbacks with Brown (not my fav player, tends to leave others to clear up defensive duties ie Sawyer) and Woodards (in form) 1 from two with either Cary or Any other on the bench when defences tire or we need to freshen attack up,chase the game. Agree Balds points are main goal, Crawley do not play attractive football however it is highly effective in this league.Save the fancy stuff for league1 COR
