Unfortunately I agree. If we had taken all 3 last night then we could get away with a point maybe. As it is really need the win.
Thank God Rafa has realised that Taylor is ****e, Thank God Colo is injured and thank God for that brick Wall in the Southampton dressing room punched Janmaat`s hand and thank God Wijnaldum was not started. This is our team till the end now. I had us down for a draw anyway so am not too dissapointed. We are staying UP. You read it here..!!!
Janmaat won't get in the way Anita is playing and niether will cool with lacelles. I thought tiote was immense last night.
I thought we were very fortunate to come away with a point last night,Rafa certainly has them scrapping for him and the crowd were immense, first time for a while I've been to st James park and not thought it was a bit subdued. They say decisions even themselves out over a season but that's just bollocks, the key decisions always go to the sides at the top. That appalling decision for Aguero reminded of a similarly dreadful one when Tiote( who was imperious last night) had a goal disallowed a couple of years ago because of another player in an offside position but not interfering against us. Replicate that passion and commitment on and off the pitch to the end of the season and you should have enough to stay up City were poor last night, such a half hearted display and that's the reason why half of them and the manager will be out on their arses in the summer Hope you stay up
Had an idea - Cisse offered some harrying, right, but could do fck all else. Mitrovic was different but isn't mobile enough. So why don't we play Perez up front and still play Wijnaldum in midfield? I wanted to see SDJ up top but I think he's not right for suddenly leading the line, why not try Perez up there and see if he can't cut it? Would have been nice if Doumbia had been the same guy on FIFA.
Plus the eleven that started last night. That should give us a fighting chance of winning on Saturday.
Pelligreni has been treat so badly. In his interviews, he always comes across as sincere and doesn't make excuses. He might not have the 'flare' of other top managers but he will be a miss.
Thanks for the comments. It was disappointing to note how few fans City brought with them. Would have expected about twice as many from a Club still fighting to get in to the Champions League and who have done so well in recent years and from the North. @ValleyGraduate12 Mind you, you still brought more fans for a mid week game than Swansea did for a Saturday 3pm kick off.
People are watching their pennies We haven't attracted the glory hunters/tourists as yet so it's still the same hardcore who do all the aways I've spent over £4000 so far this season on just tickets and travel and many are having to pick and choose Should be a bit easier next season with the £30 away tickets as we are category A wherever we go and while the squad may be multi millionaires the fan base is still largely working class
Plus, I suppose, you still have "local" fans unlike your neighbours from Salford so there wouldn't be to many coming from the North-East or Surrey. Also somewhat ridiculously we also are usually/invariably Category A matches!!
As a Swansea fan , I'm all for Newcastle dropping points to ensure our survival .......but not that way . One brain fart moment for a linesman and a club and it's fans are thrown into turmoil , something has to be done to prevent lazy officials ruining games because the reprecusions against them for doing so are non existent
english refs always play against the crowd at st james always ... waste of time .. even trying to compete
Refs and linesmen make mistakes. It was a particularly bad one, but its not why we're going down. I'm happy to take the rough with the smooth with refs. You get good and bad over the course of the season.
I accept during a season you get favourable decisions as well as bad decisions but I don't subscribe to the "swings and roundabouts" or that they balance out over a season which is why bad decisions like last night can and do send teams down. By way of example can anyone remember our last "offside" goal or the last time another team had a "good" goal disallowed when playing against us or when the other team had a player wrongly sent off against us. Last time we went down we were bad but we still failed to get our rub of the green. Jeff Winter used to ( may still do) have a web site where, amongst other things, he recorded during the course of that season the effect of the bad decisions on all teams (obviously not all bad decisions but just the most obvious) the outcome of which was that we would have been easily safe from relegation that season if the bad decisions (not just in our games) had been correctly called at the time. It was an overly simple method as in reverse decision to "right" decision and alter points without taking into account how that changed decision would probably have changed the particular game's course completely. But it showed the potential effect on points and position on all teams over a season. If we go down, especially if on goal difference or by one point or two, then we can quite justifiably look at, again with other factors as well, the bad decisions that have gone against us and wonder if once again we didn't get a fair rub of the green.
