As I said, next season, and from the off, will be a marker as to whether LM is the man to take us forwards.
IMO it's clearer to see where LM's tactics & setups is taking us than when under Nige.....all this early days nonsense was never mentioned under Nige, yet we went over a seasons worth of games at home unable to win....it's head scratching how some get to this line of thought..
If you can't see the improvement that's been achieved under LM then there's no hope.. Even the Norwich fans complimented how well we played..

We were consistent under Nige...........?? ReallyINCONSISTENT to be frank![]()

There’s a common theme there. Since that great league one campaign we’ve been only in the champ with 5 managers. We haven’t been consistent since Cotts.
We were consistently good in our L1 promotion year, followed by consistently dire in the championship until he was sacked.
Since then we’ve had ‘Old Streaky’, followed by DH, NP and now LM. All struggled with consistency.
Yes I agree, but other clubs’s good streaks are bigger than ours - which is why we are mid table and others are getting promoted. There’s a common theme there. Since that great league one campaign we’ve been only in the champ with 5 managers.
And it’s not just us. In the Championship anyone can beat anyone. As soon as we realise it’s not only us in this league that has streaks.
Same here very much on the fence with regards to Lansdown and his manager.
It's City we're talking about here
Lots of if's as we're not known for making great decisions on or off the field.
I hope that Manning works out, I really do, but the proof will be in the pudding when (and if) he brings in his own signings, and we prove we're at least more consistent than we have been over the last few years.
Also he needs to prove that he can adapt and change his tactics when we're playing teams who come to AG not to lose, and we're struggling to break them down.
That's what we've been missing for years IMHO

It will depend on resultsIf he isn't allowed to bring in his own players, will you give him as much leeway as you gave Nige for not progressing us with a limited budget?
No, because he already has a top 10 squad, and all the time wasters have been weeded out for him by Nige, Nige wouldn’t have been given Leeway next season either, it’s now time to progress, whoever the manager is.If he isn't allowed to bring in his own players, will you give him as much leeway as you gave Nige for not progressing us with a limited budget?
I don’t think we are far off being a top 6 side when all our players are available. However, the reality is that there will always be 1 or 2 first team players unavailable due to injuries or suspensions. We don’t have the depth and we are particularly vulnerable if we lose someone from our back line. As been said many times we are also a small (in stature) side and get bullied too easily - mainly by the struggling sides who apply a more physical strategy. We need a big man we can call upon to give us another option. A championship standard Matt Smith type striker, or a Flint-esq defender who can go forward would be great. No, because he already has a top 10 squad, and all the time wasters have been weeded out for him by Nige, Nige wouldn’t have been given Leeway next season either, it’s now time to progress, whoever the manager is.

It’s only Wells left (and Weimann for the next couple of weeks I suppose) out of the LJ/Ashton era signings I believe?? Possibly Max - did LJ/Ashton sign him? Those 'time-wasters' all achieved higher finishes under the previous regime than we ever have since...

We also spent far more under the previous regime and had a much bigger squad, I accept “time wasters” was a bit strong, but you know what I mean. The thing that Nige instilled and thankfully has transferred to the LM era is the work ethic of the squad, most games, even if we lose, it feels like most have put in a “shift”Those 'time-wasters' all achieved higher finishes under the previous regime than we ever have since...
