Whilst Redmond had by many accounts one of his better games last week (I agree, thought he played well) Murphy made things happen, scored 2 and has that pace that keeps the opposition nervous and honest. I would think Adams would be keen to play a youngster he knows well after working together. The question really is should Adams;
Promote Murphy from the bench after such an impact, thus saying to the squad - play well, take your chance and any place is up for grabs.
Stay loyal to the starting eleven that is improving as a team and Redmond perhaps also individually
Or just keep Redmond sweet till the window closes and then maybe make that call?

It's really win/win at the moment as both are good. Just interested if anyone else had any thoughts on this?

P.s. Obviously Lafferty and E benno are in the mix for th wide attack positions but I kind of am assuming Lafferty is in and offers something different. Benno I suppose is in more direct contest as similar to Murphy and Redmond so discuss at will.

For me, I'd keep Murphy on the bench. Our midfield and striker(s) have been working well together, so I don't see the need to upset a winning combination. Particularly when we'd probably be looking for Josh to play on the left where Lafferty is currently doing a sterling job, rather than on the right where Redmond's been.

Yes, my feelings on the matter too - keep him as a sub for when the opposition defenders are tiring. May also have the effect of making Redmond improve if he knows he has someone challenging for his place.
 
Have we been in a better place in the last 18 months? Our gaffer is doing the do and we are discussing the better side of football, positively! What a relief.

Another good performance tomorrow (even if we don't win) and it really will be 'Fortress Carrow Road!!!'
 
I spend every match complaining about Redmond's final product and have been very impressed by Murphy.

...but I'd still start Redmond for this one. The defending was terrible for both Murphy's goals and I doubt we will get that on Saturday.
 
Play them both - Redmond on the right - Murphy on the left - Lafferty or Jerome up top with Wes behind him.
 
From what I've seen of him, and it's been a bit more this season, I'm very happy for Murphy to be kept reasonably low-profile at the moment. I think we have a proper player on our hands, who will definitely be challenging Redmond for a starting place very soon, not least because his shooting looks miles better.

Exciting times and a pretty good transfer window so far, although I'm afraid we may lose Hoops.
 
I agree for the moment that sticking with the winning team is probably right, however if Redmond continued to be somewhat unproductive in terms of goals and assists. And Murphy tares Shrewsbury a new one. I would hope he would be given a chance. (obviously even better would be Redmond giving us the end product that he seems so adept at producing for the u21s)
Great problems to have as manager though!

Grabban's got the goals including the all important derby winner at The Tip, but he hasn't looked convincing with his finishing (even the penalty). I'll get slated for this but i'd be keen to see what Jerome can do starting ahead of our top scorer (and joint top league scorer).

As for Redmond v Murphy, i'd still start with Redmond and like others have suggested, hopefully added incentive for Redmond to keep his place knowing Murphy is right on his toes. There's also our new Falkirk recruit to consider too. (edit: just seen McGrandles not eligible this weekend).
 
The (albeit short) highlights I saw of the derby I saw showed Redmond providing chances with passing to our players.... actually looked better than what I had seen previously.... could we start with both and have a 3-2-2-1-2 formation. Playing three at the back and 5 in the middle with two holding ones protecting the defense? Might be an interesting way of coping with our defensive injuries and our abundance in midfield attacking power
