He did look absolutely terrible last night, but all keepers have a bad game and he's definitely better than that.

As I don't believe we're in for him anyway, it's all a bit academic.

what is it that playing for Arsenal that affects goalkeepers? They have had a series of clowns in goal since Pat Jennings (even Seaman had his moments). Is it something that Wenger coaches into them?

in general I goalkeeping had gotten harder. the new ball technology means that shots come in faster and move in the air more than the balls that I was familiar with in my playing days.

but that doesn't explain Vito's brain spasm last night.

Simple, under Wenger they have shyte defenders in front of them. Mannone had a shocker last night that had little to do with the defenders but in general Wenger considers solid defence as a dirty concept; something that is beneath him. That is why they've won phuckall for 7 years.

Justs seen, every keeper drops a clanger every now and then but that was pretty awful from Mannone!

it could be a ploy of Vito's part. He's running a campaign to get Wenger to lose faith in him and allow him a free transfer...

Bit of a flawed plan that as Wenger hasn't had any faith in him up to this point.

being only a sub, could be that he was not mentally prepared to go on the field, had a rush of blood when he raced out of his area to head the ball away and it all went tits up after that.

He was not at fault for the third goal, that was down to poor centre back play once again.

By the looks of it both their keepers were as bad as each other, infact the whole team were ****e.

You could put a few sound effects on that and maybe a circus theme tune and that would perfectly describe it.

In additiont to this brilliasnt summary, Wenger also believes that an unknown defender from the French 3rd division will bring a greater chance of success than just signing Gary Cahill as he is expected to by the pundits every transfer window. Or any other decent hard defender, we have an abundance of them in the England team and yet he's obsessed with buying foreign defenders on the cheap.

yes i did but Vito was not alone. there entire defence resembled key stone cops. lucky the game did not matter.

i am now wanting Dorus De Vries(on loan til the summer) when we can then get Boaz Myhill back. Job done. end of.
