I've just read this in the Daily Fail - looks like Florest are in LOADS of financial trouble and facing legal action - possibly a winding-up order:

Nottingham Forest owe MILLIONS in overdue payments to players and agents, with legal action being considered if they don't settle the debts imminently | Daily Mail Online

Makes me wonder how they managed to get into this state without attracting the interest of FFP.....
Surely the money they get from being in the Premiership will help pay some of their bills ?

They haven't been in the PL long enough yet to attract that attention I suspect? They signed so many players last season, and most will have been on big money to tempt them to come. Their method always looked unsustainable, even with PL money, but the gamble worked, and they have a second season, now they have to try to balance the books. Staying up while doing that is the hard part, although with Luton & Sheff Utd almost nailed on to go back down, they only need 1 other team to be worse than them to stay up, and then have a 3rd year of PL money to sort themselves out.

There were dodgy dealings up there back in the days of Cloughie.

Wasn't the chairman at the time done for embezzlement or something from or through a Post Office ?
