No disrespect to Blackpool but I think they will be shown to be quite a weak side compared to most in the championship.......so tie wraps at the ready RR.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Blackpool may be so-but what we are saying is the style of football was so much better to watch-those players not rated by NP will be shown the door.BEEN BIG ISSUES PLAYER WISE for far to many years.

Absolutely on the button with this <applause><applause><applause>

I do wonder if some on here have been living under a stone for the past 18 months. Most fans wanted a proven manager after LJ and DH and that's what was brought in. Pearson arrived in exceptional circumstances with COVID and no fans. There was little he could do last season and had to make do with the mainly injured squad he inherited. He knew they were nowhere near fit enough but no time to correct after MA fitness crew had let it happen. He has had the pre-season to get rid of those that do not not buy in to the fact you have to be fit to play football and make sure those that remain are up for it and buy in to his philosophy. There is very little money available for most teams in the EFL this season and he recruited a few of his trusted players that know how he works amd have experience at a higher level. He now has to mold them into a team that will complete the first part of a three year plan that will take us to the promised land. We have played just two games, the first against Blackpool did show some improvement and it was a sickener to concede in the last minute. Last night at Forest green there were 11 changes which shows he is still giving a chance to those not selected on Sat. I am sure he thinks giving everyone a game and a chance to step up for selection is more important than making the second round of the EFL cup. Those calling for his head after one week of the season are deluded and need to take stock of the situation the club is in. FFP will not allow SL to invest and the club have stated we have to sell first before we can buy the striker we desperately need. We have to give Pearson leeway until the end of August when the transfer market closes and a few more games to mold that team before making stupid posts. Get real people this was always going to be a tough season.

I haven't read any post where anyone is calling for Pearson to be sacked? If I have missed it, please point it out, and I agree with you, nobody should be calling for his head. That is ludicrous, even for our fans on here who are notoriously critical of a new manager

Surely a manager is judged on results, and with the best will in the world Pearson’s record with us is nothing short of abysmal, anyone know LJ’s number ? <laugh><laugh><laugh>

I echo this. I haven't seen any post asking for Pearson to be sacked. I even posted that I would be angry if he was sacked.
In reality there is no WAY he would or should be sacked. That would be SILLY.

Correct - but we are only 1 league and 1 cup game into the season.
10-12 games maybe if we are rooted to the bottom of the table without a win, but now is too early imho

Unable to beat a league 2 side and a poor championship side that were League 1 last season, it doesn’t bode well for tougher fixtures does it? , we should beat those type of teams if we have ambitions of anything other than struggling this season.

OK just so as I get this correct.

You said 10 players were released - which was wrong. it was 14.
You the then threw in a personal insult and said I was including youth players - which was also wrong. 2 were 22 years old and 2 were 24 years old (hardly youths).
You then said ah but how many games have they featured in - but forgot that one of the players you referenced hadn't played for us either so wrong for 3rd time.

And you want me to admit that I was wrong, when I have been correct all of the way through this exchange.

I cannot help it if you keep making statements that keep showing everybody how little you actually know about your club.

Please note the lack of insults, just facts.

Oh dear, no cup run, so fringe players will not get much game time. Did Nigel get the starting 11 right? should he have stuck with mostly the Saturday team and swapped for a couple fringe players when we were 3-0 or more winning?

You and I both know that the way you bang on constantly about the 11 players leaving is like first team players. Most of the ones you named may not be youth as in age, but they played for the youth team of under 23’s. I copied and pasted the names from the official site that the club decided to name.
As to insults, your constant put down of fans because they don’t go, is almost like they’ve not got an opinion on the matter.
If you’re offended there is a block button where you don’t see their post. There are one or two I have on it. So feel free to block me if the word tit upsets you.

    1. I am blaming the players because it is true. They eventually got LJ sacked and the proof of that was the basis of the same players then got Holden sacked. I know it's only so far this season 2 games but many of those self same players appeared as our 2nd string last night, anybody would have thought busting a gut to get back into contention for championship games, but it doesn't look like what happened and that is a problem, it was pretty much universally agreed against Blackpool the starting 11 + subs all put in 100% something that could not be said for many games in the past 2 seasons. So why not the 2nd string?.

    2. LJ already timidly surrendered the DOF position to Ashton when he signed his 4 year contract in 2019, he knew the score and accepted it. The mistake was SL not accepting that our squad was poor and needed culling. When he appointed Holden.

You cannot have it both ways and claim all of the success was down to LJ and all of the signings and sales were down to Ashton, because Webster for instance who you claim as a success would have been an Ashton signing as well. The problem was the recruitment was highly dysfunctional, Palmer is a classic example signed for a biggish fee and barely played by LJ or Holden, which suggests to me LJ didn't want him in the first place because he was not persevered with. The signings were a scatter gun approach sign in volume and hope 1 or 2 come off. I wouldn't mind betting that somewhere in the region of 20 players signed using the scatter gun approach never made double figure appearances for BCFC.

I don't know what the dynamic was between Ashton and LJ but like you I can hazard a bloody good guess, but whatever it actually was LJ was complicit and far too many of last nights squad have again proved they don't give a ****, luckily players like Janneh and Palmer are the exception, the players I feel most sorry for is Pring, Bell, Conway and even Massengo whom these senior players are letting down big style, Massengo in particular throughly embarrassed many of them towards the end of last season and Pearson rightly called that out.

I do not put anybody down for not going, I merely point out that it's a bit rich basing comments on a performance from results, stats, reading reports or watching brief highlights, again that is a fact.

As to the insults I would give somebody as ignorant as you the satisfaction of using the block option, you keep up the insults and lack of knowledge of your team and I will deal in facts.

We lost Williams again last night and ODowda on Saturday, just imagine losing Atkinson or Bentley to injury in a game where 30mils worth signings took part and another 4.5mil player not used, it should have been more than enough to win that game.

    1. So these players aren't busting a gut for Pearson then? So no better then? Are we saying these players are rubbish or no coach in the past 18 months/two years haven't managed to motivate them?
    2. Not really looking to have it both ways, with the players at LJ's disposal.. he would had to have made the most of what he had..Sometimes trying to stop the rot, players like Palmer might not feature if you are looking to tighten up at the back for example....TBF to LJ, accused of tinkering, was always trying to put out a team not only to compete, but a team that would gel to progress and as soon as he got close to that, key players were yanked out and sold on.
Personally and it's my opinion, with what players he had, the strength of the championship in the seasons he was there, the key players that he lost, through sell and injury, I believe he did a decent job...........and nothing since his departure has changed for the better.......I also believe if LJ was still here, now Ashton has departed, we'd be in a better position than we are now..........certainly not worse!!

And surely you can judge a Manager on what they say, what their own aims and objectives are and how much time and resource is used.
