Would think it was aimed at the club. Its true you're a Thai owned club. You lot go on about your owners Thai money etc.can't have it both ways, suggest you just get over it none story to be honest.
Actually, interesting you mention this; one of the teachers I work with, who is a history/humanities teacher, told me something quite interesting a while back that renders the Forest chant inaccurate. Did you know, the only 'true English' people (or 'native/indigenous population' if you like) whose ancestors haven't descended from Romans, Normans, Scandinavia etc. are those with ginger hair? So, if they did mean it in a derogatory way about the diversity of Leicester's population, most of them were technically being derogatory to themselves as well. I would be very surprised if any charges were brought to them because it's very hard to prove that these chants were aimed in a racist manner against the city and no actual 'racist words' were used.
Greatness - given that we have a varied and cosmopolitan population and that we have Thai owners to boot - are you now saying that we would be well within our rights to chant "You're just a bunch of Weasleys" at fans of those clubs intrinsically more 'English' than us?
Exactly. At the end of the day it's racism and it's against the law. So, ill say again. ****ing idiot.
Its called banter, all fans do it.pointing out the fact your club sold off their identity, isn't offensive.sad yes,no scruples yes, offensive no.so I will say again.Man up you tart..
Sold off our identity? Outside the PL, LCFC are now one of the best known clubs around. I call that smart work by our owners. For example, Sven as manager may not have worked out as we wanted, but it increased the club profile massively and globally. Scruples in football? Don't make me laugh you jerk - that went out of the window many years ago - almost as long ago as when your club was well known. And what's with the sexist comments about 'Man up'? Like other Weeds WUMs here, you're still in the last century.
Banter is one thing. Racism is another. And for clarity, here's the definition of racism: noun 1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior. Claiming that people from Leicester are not English any more is simply an inaccurate statement. However, the implication that this somehow makes us inferior is racism. Which is offensive. And illegal. But what makes me laugh is the hypocrisy of the Forest fans. I love in Nottingham, and there is a very high representation of different cultures and skin colours. It is very much a multicultural city, so I find it surprising people from Nottingham would resort to racism. It's slightly less surprising, in fact sadly predictable, to find this attitude in cities with very high white/English populations though, such as Leeds.
You'd best have a word with them to help their education. The majority of people on these Islands share over 95% of their DNA with the original inhabitants that were left here when the ice retreated from mainland Europe. The ginger bit's just nonsense.
you misunderstand me gangster,I don't think they were on about fans at all.Think they were on about the club,as in your clubs not English anymore, your a Thai club is what in my opinion they were getting at.now of coarse this was done to wind your fans up,but to take offence at being called a Thai club, wouldn't you have to be racist against Thai people ?
Or perhaps the people here when we first split from mainland Europe? Experts put to bed the mongrel myth quite some time ago. It does amuse me how quickly people try to discredit this Islands heritage for the benefit of someone else. Surely that's racist?
..And that's exactly the response they wanted, easy to wind up.. The real funny part of your post was,you were so bothered about gay, lesbian,African,Indian, pakistani, women's rights etc and then you finish off with a racist insult to people from Leeds.you racist pri-k.
I think it was a combination of the Thai ownership and the well-known fact that Leicester has a high Asian population. Neither of these things are a negative. But are made to be by racists.
Just... y'know... people from England. Not Thailand. Nationality and ethnicity aren't the same thing, so how this can be racist is beyond me.
It's better than that, if you follow the logic of that argument to its ultimate conclusion, it kills the whole racist pc religious gravy train. As flawed as the experts have shown that they are, the argument that all English people stem from immigrants begs the obvious question of where did the immigrants come from? All of them, if the same flawed logic is applied, stem from immigrants themselves. Which leads to the out of Africa theory, which if accurate, insults almost all organised religions as it is not compatible with their fundamental tenets. It also means that we all originate from the same place, which means we're all the same race, in which instance racism disappears up its own arse.
