Oh & PS, the Pole involved was happy as Larry. He gets his wedge as soon as his mate gets paid and it probably wends its way straight off to Poland. He said he's very happy over here for a couple of years and then he'll be off back home. If you know the Poles, they're so entrepreneurial as to make the Americans look like Socialists! Not always entrepreneurial in a strictly legal way it's true, but in a cheerful, twinkle in the eye style. I like the Poles. Does it make it right? I don't know, he was certainly OK with it!
Distant me too - to my everlasting shame!!! T'was a tongue in cheek question Mexijan - hi - how are you? Re a European Super League - this has been on the agenda long before the Premier League was born/spawned, now they have it, well sort of, it used to be called the European Cup (amongst many other guises), it was as you remember for League Champions ONLY and wa a proper knock out cup competition from the outset. Now - thanks to SKY and other money, you have the mini leagues and THEN the knock out stages - in other words, a super league by default!! Whatever next to generate revenue - the 39th Prem game to be played outside of the UK - to the highest bidder - well the NFL are doing just that for the next 5 years at least - to stage one game per season at Wembley!! Come the revolution!! Viva Zapata
Ps - Distant - me too, love the 'car wash' on Tavistock Road!! Was talking to a Polish plumber t'other day, he is going back home due to lack of opportunites and the UK economy!! Times is ard Barkiss indeed
Never thought you were giving me a hard time oldnickyb or took it like that. It's nice to know however that even the mighty and righteous love a bargain. My Dad was a gardener by profession and did a job on the side for a high profile local politician (not on the expenses may I add) so no doubt the "black economy" or "Eastern Block" economy as it is now know extends to very high places. By the way, if I die then I can give him the house for free as I have also found out. I watch my back for hit men everytime I go out now.
