Foreign TV rights - should we be able to sell our own ??

    Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd may have considered the possibility, but they haven't actually come out and said it should be done. Everyone at the party may think the fat kids don't deserve as much cake as everyone else, but no one's going to actually say it! ;)

    If you look at La Liga, the marketing and advertising power of Real and Barca (which has until recently been way above that of Utd and Liverpool) has done precisely **** all for the rest of the the league. La Liga earns 33% less than the PL for its broadcasting rights, and the four bottom clubs get around £12 million in TV revenue each year. Compare that to Blackpool, the lowest earners in the PL last year, who got £39 million. The parachute payments the PL gives to relegated clubs are larger than the TV revenues of 12 of the 20 clubs in La Liga.

    I made a point the only people who want to watch say Bolton vs Fulham are people from Bolton anf Fulham. Neither club has a world-wide fan-base. I was backing what Ian Ayre said that the vast majority of people in places like Hong-Kong or Kuala Lumpur or Delhi or most of Asia don't want to be watching Bolton vs Fulham, Aston Villa vs West Brom or Swansea vs QPR.

    They will watch those sides if they are playing clubs with large global fanbase ie Liverpool and Manchester United and to a lesser extent Arsenal and Chelsea. I believe the clubs that have the highest audience figures should get the most revenue.

    I earlier made a point that supposing there was a tv in a pub and there was a choice between a game between Fulham and West Brom and the racing, I'm 100% the punters looking for the racing would get their way. Thats unless the pubs were in the Fulham supporting part of West London, or the WBA supporting part of the midlands.
    If it were a game between Liverpool and someone, or Man United and someone or in some places Chelsea or Arsenal and someone, then those punters would get their way. Its human nature and its the way it is. I'm not by any means being arrogant.

    The overseas deal doesn't affect clubs like Everton, Bolton, Fulham, West Brom, Aston Villa and Spurs, as it doesn't affect the domestic deal. None of these clubs have overseas support.
