And you need to let things go, I chose my words to give an opinion on this idea, you suggesting because I said it was crap it's being negative and I should consider posting on here. Now tell me the whole idea is a negative one, how do you answer positively to something so negative, I am all ears!

If there was an exclusive PL, don't be fooled into thinking the Swans would be included. If it was the case, they'd pick the 20 biggest clubs, or maybe the 17 biggest clubs, and 3 that have a big geographical advantage in recruiting fans. They'd probably fancy the idea of one Welsh team in the PL and let Cardiff in, I reckon.

so with that theory Scott who are the teams. looking at rivalry u have man u v man c, liverpool v everton, spurs, chelsea, arsenal v each other, newcastle v boro/sunderland, villa v wolves/brum/wba, then you got leaads, coventry, derby, notts f who arnt setting world alight.

take also blackburn, wigan, fulham, swans, qpr, norwich, ipswich aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh too hard

and thats not taking into account teams like ston, ports, and brighton from the south

Both the Sheffield teams? West Ham? Stoke... the oldest club in the world...the idea is ludicrous, but if it happened I see it happening like I said.

qpr,Swansea, wigan, norwich, wolves, wba, and a few more would be relegated out of the premiership for not being big clubs, only clubs with 40k+ attendance is what these foreign owners are after. there are a few teams in the championship and league one that would have the potential of that attendance if they were in the premiership......

And that would kill the game completely , as fergy said it would be suicide to even consider it, and as utd are foreign owned I would expect the glazers not back this! The suggestion of 14 teams owned by foreigners all wanting this is a misconception , how do they know that they all want the same ?

Let what things go Jager? You clearly have an agenda with me,and you don't like my reaction to that. Tough.

Your initial reaction to this thread typified that impression. You only entered into the spirit of the thread when I challenged you,and later on when
    quoting the likes of Ferguson.

Quite recently you agreed with another poster that there was a lack of irony on this Forum.Well, perhaps I was being ironic, just to please you.

No vetch I don't give a monkeys what you think, the point is you have only highlighted my post, when the poster before also said it was a non story, and others have said the same! My words were who comes up with this crap in the media, as you didn't link to it at all, it's pretty hard to come into the spirit of the thread, which is a negative one due to the subject!

Me linking to it and quoting various people in the game basically saying it was crap , just says it all, it's crap ! Sorry if you don't like my choice of words, it's just tough!

And vetch there is no agenda with you, though it appears to be one with you to myself !

i would say glazer, abramovich, arsenal and liverpool dudes could not give a toss as they are unlikely to be relegated, its the indians at blackburn etc who are worried

This is just silly season again. This will never be passed. Every now and then someone puts something out there to stir things up. Was it last year or the one before, when the league wanted to play a 39th game outside the uk. This issue of non relegation is as much of a non starter as that was. I agree its an issue to debate. But in reality, does anyone believe it will happen.

As it stands the premier league has one of the best brands in the world. It doesnt need to start messing around with it. To ban relegation would make the league stale and boring. Less people would be interested in watching it. The last games of the season just gone were superb, not knowing who was going to be relegated until at the last minute. Pure drama, that would not be reproduced.

In effect the league would be over by March, February, with only 3 teams at most having any interest. That makes for a great spectical doesnt it.

Quite simply this will never happen. IMO

I remember when there was uproar about the premiership being formed and fans were saying it would never happen..<laugh> the way the big clubs are getting bigger in Europe then something will bound to happen sooner or later, We have foreign owners who can buy the best foreign players that are slowly taking over and football at some clubs has nothing or no connection with the fans. its like a foreign team playing using our cities for a name just to make money...Germany has got the right idea as they saw what was happening to their own top league and put a stop to it..

Things they said/thought would never happen.

    1) Abolition of maximum wage.

    2) The first million pound player.

    3) The first five million pound player,etc.,etc.

    4) The first £100,000.00 per week player.

    5) The first £250,000.00 per week player.

    6) Premier League.

    7) Multiple foreign ownerships.

There are others, but I think the above clearly indicate that NOTHING is written in stone, especially when money is to be made.
