They sound a little like The Small Faces.

No way!! Small Faces were essentially a rock band who briefly embraced psychedelia whereas Nirvana wre totally dedicated to exploring the whole psychedelic experience.

Having said that I doubt that Nirvana could ever have produced anything as spectacular as Ogdens Nut Gone Flake

I heard that album many years ago, not a huge fan but my Father in Law loves it.

You Philistine! <laugh>

Indeed I am at times. :D

RHC is off to watch Neil Young this weekend.

I had an almost fall out with the father in law when I suggested that Neil Young was the far better artist when compared to Bob Dylan. :D He was not amused.

I then went on to suggest that I prefer the early albums of The Who to those of the Rolling Stone, at this point he was speechless and decided to neck his wine and go to bed in the interest of family harmony.

Oooh you are awful - but I like you!!

The Stones have never been one of may favourite bands - and the longer they go on existing well beyond their kill by date the worse they become!. However no early Stones albums then no early Who. One feeds off the other. No early Stones albums then arguably no massive musical development in Beatles albums.

I never was a great supporter of Neil Young. The occasional song was OK but I found his music pretentious. So now I suppose RHC has put me on his Ignore List!! In the early days I thought Donovan was better than Dylan but then I was (still am) heavily psychedelically influenced. Having said that on re-visiting early Dylan I feel amazed that I dismissed it so easily!!

So here's one of my favourite Stones songs

Neil Young grew on me I didn't get him to start with but I kept going back and eventually I realised I so many songs by him that I loved.

Cheating a bit but this is good..........
