Not my genre (hate that word but can't think of a better one). Good production quality and performed well. What I can't understand about European Folk style groups is why do they have to adopt American accents? I can totally understand singing in English to reach a wider audience but the accent thing adds nothing. But then English Folk groups all seem to want us to believe that they originate from the countryside somewhere near Herefordshire - and nobody knows where that is!

So my considered opinion (for what its worth). Its fine. I'd give it another listen but it doesn't knock my socks off. After all that I'm off to lay down in a darkened room.

Interesting point Dave,and one I have asked myself over the last couple of years.Iv'e managed to glean a little info on
this from various sources.Firstly,most swedes second language is english but many seem to carry a slight american
twang within this.Cultural I guess,from yank films and music etc.Secondly,Klara and Johanna were educated at an
international school in Stockholm with,no doubt,its fair share of yanks.Another reason perhaps would be their musical
inspirations.Johnny Cash,June Carter,Emmylou Harris,Gram Parsons,Fleet foxes etc............there is alot of folky
accoustic stuff in there and their self-confessed love of americana in general will just add to that.

This track in isolation doesn't knock my socks off either,I think its ok and probably a grower ( heard it 20 or 25 times)
This is their third album (fourth if you count 'Drunken Trees' extended EP) and there are 1 or 2 tracks on each that I
struggle with a little.But the remainder is of such high quality it keeps me transfixed.

'My silver lining' is record of the week on 6 music <ok>
 
Thanks for the background. I suppose it was years only hearing Grand Old Opry style Country and Western that put me off - along with the morbid mountain "Billy bub hanged himself today" wailling!! that put me off American folk. But then apart from the flirtation with psychedelia, I also built up a distaste for the dishonesty of English folk music. To me, all music that comes from the people is folk music and not a particular style. Perhaps that is why I no longer listen to what passes today for pop music as it comes straight from the corporations and not the people.

Of course you also have to take into account the reluctance of us oldies to accept anything that has been created since the birth of the steam lorry <laugh>
