See I see that differently. Soul was was black America's demonstration that their music could not be controlled/stolen by the major record labels. But it was in the UK (much to their surprise) that they found a truly interracial audience

Thats kinda what im saying,when i lived in Houston and was in New Orleans i surprised black guys because i'd sing soul from the 70's rather than country,rock etc in karaoke bars.
