We Won It 5 Times,In Istantbul We Won It 5 Times!
 
I was in a bar in Salamanca that night. Herself had gone back to the hotel when we were 2-0 down. I wish I could say I sang YNWA at half time but I was too depressed. Bar full of Spanish workers - great lads. Shrugs and offers of another beer was all they could offer. As the 2nd half exploded I was kissed so many times it was untrue (I was wearing my shirt and scarf!). Couldn't watch the penalty and actually didn't see it for another 6 months! Finally got back to the hotel and woke Herself up (and half of the other guests) and we set about painting Salamanca RED - so many bars, so many hugs and so many beers!!

We finished up in a bar near the river as the sun came up drinking carjillos just as the papers arrived with a picture of Stevie and Big ears plastered on the front
 
this was while we were getting ready for the capital of culture and Liverpool was one big building site.
