Well I did have a listen. An interesting anthology I'll give you that.

I liked Hookworms, Drenge and Kurt Vile. Perhaps the common ingredient for me was a touch of psych in there but I liked those offerings.

I didn't enjoy as much Metz, Pissed Jeans, Uncle Tupalo, Lucero and Houndstooth. Different sounds but the common factor was that I was left feeling that I'd heard it before - only better. Perhaps it was the tracks you selected but I wouldn't go searching to hear more whilst I might for the first lot.

Mark Kozelek. I'll have to listen to that a few more times. Sung rap is an interesting concept.

Amazing to think that Buddy Holly wrote and recorded all of his hits in one 18 month period before his death.

Yes, there's a nice bass line running through all the tracks and a certain something about them all, I thought you might like Hookworms but have been wrong in the past.

I'll post some other Kozelek stuff he was in a band Called Red House Pinters who are very good and some of his solo stuff is also good but also poor at times.
