I thought maybe that was a cover of the 00s power pop combo Rooster's version. I'd post it but I prefer Come Get Some.
Namedrop alert: my flatmate played penny whistle in Edinburgh raggle taggle outfit We Free Kings, the band said to have been the reason Mike Scott moved to Ireland and went acoustic. Mike shared a flat with Joe Kingman, singer with WFK, and they supported The Waterboys at Hammersmith Odeon. 3 months later, Mike was living in Dublin with a new lineup. Said flatmate went on to join the Waterboys for the Fisherman's Blues album. I had the pleasure of an evening with Mr. Scott, when he was in town and called me to see if I could get him some hash. I'd just made a video for WFK and we discussed the subject, given it was still quite a new medium. He said the Waterboys didn't make videos, because when we were young we created the images to the music in our heads. Videos put a specific image there instead. Who can listen to something like Sledgehammer now without thinking of the video?
i'm reading Danny Bakers autobiography and this lot got a mention in passing. it brought back dreadful suppressed memories for me as my elder brother liked them . So i'm here to share the pain/boredom
