See utd's performance in the league since the purple one left. Pretty self explanatory, I'd have thought.

Competitive in the league. Maureen has started fairly well by winning silverware, if you don't care about the league and you ignore how much he has spunked - sorry, spent - on a couple of marquee signings.

He started a lot better at Chelsea last time though, until it all turned to **** <ok>

Not really mate, your statement made absolutely no sense at all. You've ascertained that people acknowledging how good Fergie was is the reason we'll never have a sustained period of success again, it's nonsensical.

Mourinho has been here one year, widely regarded as the best manager in the world, won 3 honours already. Go and have a look how Fergie did in his first year.

We'll come back and look at this statement in a few years.

As if the Special One will be shown the sort of patience Fergie was.

Oh, and "widely regarded as the best manager in the world"? <laugh>

We will certainly look back at this statement, probably a year from now.

A year? How are you going to ascertain a prolonged period without success in a 2 year spell, given that the first year has already yielded 3 honours?

I only questioned your sentence because it made no sense, not because I didn't agree with the plausibility of us not being as successful as Fergie made us, in that aspect I'm inclined to agree, but so far so good under Mourinho, must do better in the league though.

You think Mourinho is in for the long haul? His track record at other clubs suggests otherwise.

He's at the biggest club now, every manager has a journey to make before they find their home.

Nah, seriously I have no idea. I hope so because that'll mean he's doing a good job.

Maybe he will settle at Utd. So far he seems a good fit for that club.

He obviously made mistakes at Chelsea and lost the dressing room as a result, so it will be interesting to see if he has learned anything from that. A lesson in humility won't have done him any harm.

He's probably been told that his theatrics won't be accepted here, like they were at Chelsea.

He knows the media will savage him and let folk like Pep get away with everything, he has to play the game.
