The b'stard thing was I was sober! Long lie and train from Mittenwald to Garmisch-Partenkirchen for another day's memories of trips with my Mum. I had a Weissbier in the station while waiting for the train but had drunk no more before the mishap. G-P is a twin town where, many years ago, a landlady had shown my Mum and I a shortcut between the two distinct parts. Walked about Partenkirchen looking about the tourist shops then decided to check out the CD shop, have lunch at a hotel restaurant and possibly go to the Kino (Mary F****n Poppins Returns in German) in Garmisch. The delightful and picturesque summer shortcut turned out to be anc icy f****n' obstacle course in January. I nearly made it back to proper (cleared of snow and gritted) pavements when whoosh; up in the air and down on my right mit I went.

After a wee while I realised all was not well so I caught the train 'home', bought some sandwiches, crisps and fruit juice and entered a hotel lock down for four days. After managing to catch the train back to Munich and trail my luggage to the pre-booked hotel I thought f**k it so I had six days/nights on the lash before lying low for a couple of days.

No chance I was missing my usual haunts in Munich!:emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

    Creed 2

Black Rocky gets even more ridiculous. Some right howlers in this one though. The one where they think the Ukraine is part of Russia being the worst.

    Pretty rubbish all round tbh.

Viggo Mortensen back to his History of Violence and Eastern Promises persona.

I took Junior to see Alita : Battle Angel at the weekend. It was alright but I wasn't expecting the F-bomb even though it was a 12A. Usual CGI graphics and most certainly set up for the sequel if it does well enough at the box office to generate interest.

6 out of 10 for this critic

Favourite ---- not bad but possibly expected too much with all the praise heaped on this film.

    A Private War ----- brilliant.

    Capernaum ----- heart wrenching.

If Beale Street Could Talk ----- again brilliant.

Incredible film making. Not everyone's cup of tea i'm sure but this really is an amazing work of art.

Really fancy 'Roma'. I stopped off in Newcastle for three nights on my way home from Liverpool (FC Bayern match) and found a wee Art House Kino (Tyneside Cinema) however I was surprised that 'Roma' was not being screened. Might have to wait until Paris in May for this fillum.

All they’re good for is jobbies in the close and stealing our swans from Queen’s Park pond to eat.
