Err, that's what the Saint is taking the piss out of. "Delusions of grandeur". Whatever happened to the 12 (thousand) angry men banner? Never have I seen so many posters in such dire need of a blow job. Calm down lads, relax, breathe out.
No I meant the delusions of Granure you unclean uneducate http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?clien...a=X&ei=MEgBUcv4O--k0AW3w4DgDA&ved=0CAsQ_AUoAA It's a Irish thing when you stand westwards in Cork you can see it cleary
His "thourough and meticulous planning". Doesn't work at QPR. I honestly believe Mark Hughes is a good manager. For me it all boils down to the fit between club and manager. And Mark Hughes never fitted with QPR and way our club is percieved by the fans and the way we (QPR) get our results. We need and crave the outgoing / larger than life characters. Neil Warnock, Ian Holloway, Gerry Francis, Terry Venables and now Harry Redknapp. To young to know how Stock, Sexton, Jago were. But these managers I've listed above have all succeeded with us because the fit with manager and club was right. The Rangers way imo. Unfortunately Hughes was to dull and never really won the fans over, would probably have struggled even with a higher win percentage than the likes of Warnock, Holloway, Francis, Venables etc. By the way DT, love your signature. Have been meaning to comment on it many times already. Think it speak volumes about the professionalism that Mark Hughes has, and for that I still admire him. please log in to view this image
You can be quite bitter in your remarks DT especially when questioning other people´s intelligence, but I won´t rise this time, going back to the post - Everton down to ten men - Hughes bad tactics didn´t have a clue, Norwich - we hung on for dear life - Hughes bad tactics didn´t have a clue, Reading - sorry but we should be beating them at home - Hughes bad tactics didn´t have a clue and West Ham - overrun and out-muscled from the off - Hughes bad tactics didn´t have a clue.....are you seeing a pattern here DT??? surely for someone who got paid to play football and falls one degree short for 1970´s disco girl band can see the re-occurring theme?
Bring it on Norwich we were both thrashed 5-0 first game and yes Norwich played well... they were at home after all but it was avery good stubborn away point I was at the Reading game and to be fair they were strong we were poor first half but hit the bar but outplayed them second and should of won.... how was that MH fault West Ham Christ on a bike ... did you see their goals? Yes outmuscled but Adel came on and we finished OK Poor starts admittedly but players fault more than Hughes IMO. I am bitter in my remarks because I am still cross reading so much rubbish on here at the time and I know only too well that our fan base now could turn on anyone ... that is not QPR ... Graphic Design and Digital Comms may even do another one to get the big three. I will continue to question not people's intelligence but their loyalty to our football club and their knowledge of the game ... most of which is based on the fact that some couldn't even run 100 metres
Possibly but only possibly but then you would be suggesting greed would you not? not even knowing the situation of how much money was involved. SB has it totally you have generated a hate figure based on the fact that we didn't win football matches and whats more you will do it again and again. The fact is there is a lot of money in the game ... so move on
Is it delusions of grandeur to expect a team that has invested as extensively as we did to go so far backwards? Is it fickle to criticise players who were not putting in anywhere near enough effort whilst genuine professionals who got us here like Shaun Derry and Heidar Helguson were shunted to the sidelines or out the club entirely? The slowness for fans to realise that Hughes was clueless cost us vital games against Southampton and Reading. Had the pressure been exerted sooner HR could have started the revival process sooner. We would have been in a better place come January and in a better place to start the rebuilding process. The ‘fickle’ fans gave the players and the chairman the kick up the back side they needed. DT you are one of the few remaining members of the ‘head in the sand’ fans when it comes to Hughes. Stockholm syndrome fits very well with you. One day you will realise a man paid £3 million pounds a year isn't allowed to hide behind all the excuses and ways of looking at that you try and hide behind. You were wrong from the start and are deluded as a form of self defence... either that or your just a wind up merchant. Probably the second one BUT a lot of people read these forums if you helped the prolong the life of Hughes in even the slightest waythen you have done the club a disservice. As for the comments about Hughes silence showing his professionalism , don’t be so daft. Part of his pay off will insist on this. From what I have been told he is still on the wage roll rather than getting a lump sum payout. If he speaks out of turn he runs the risk of being dismissed without further pay as Paulo Sousa found out
....or you are in fact Mark Hughes Btw no need to start the mud-slinging DT, I'd expect something much 'creative' than 'bastardo' from a graphic designer or were you in 'insurance' mode?
Personally, I think the players need to bear a far greater degree of burden for this mess than they are currently attributed. MH had his bad ways, and probably wasn't a great fit for QPR, but in an interview for the Independent (I think) Mbia basically said the players didn't put the effort in under Hughes. Of course this is partly MH's fault, and perhaps a damning indictment of his motivational skills, but those players ought to be ashamed of themselves: walking away with huge wages and not grafting, disgraceful.
Dave....you are in complete denial. MH was clueless. He got formations and tactics wrong time after time. You mentioned the West Ham game.........Hughes played 2 central midfielders against their 3 and we were over-run. He changed it 2nd half, but that was too late. There are many other examples.....totally clueless! Then again..maybe you just like to take the opposite view to stir things a little eh?
I don't wish Hughes any ill, I'm just glad he's gone. As I said during the protracted debate on this board prior to his departure, nobody ever believes that they dismissed an under-performer too soon. I suspect messrs Fernandes and Beard feel the same. No question that Hughes worked hard and wanted to bring success.... It just didn't work out for him for the reasons that many have already articulated here.
Brilliant post. Although I still think that the worst thing he did really was putting that cat's legs in drying concrete and dropping it in lake Baikal - a complete misuse of Tone's private jet. Bastard!!!!
Sincerely Col I am not just stirring up anything it's just my view I like some wanted stability and saw clear signs that we were playing good stuff. I am on record as thinking that the formation stuff on here is just fans talk . I know the manager takes the responsibility it's part of the job But calling him clueless at the time was really way off he mark What does it matter now I am just contributing to the thread as I am certainly one that thinks he moves on Harold is our manager now and he certainly couldn't be worse than Hughes in terms of record in fact he or anyone was going to best it quickly What dies seriously get my goat is how quickly the ok my term the infection set in. The progress of our club at this time is amazing as I clearly remember the old days just fix few years ago when no e of us would of thought we would have SWP playing for us etc I also worry about our tone of voice as a fan base as we have been sucked into the big time the way the game is changing and how we as humans are now handling that. Already what Kudos has QPR got in the present day and how do the fans of the club behave Potentially what is happening to us happened to Chelsea and City etc Hughes was the worse ever QPR manager maybe but there is much more IMO to that story. When threads are launched like this of course I have an opinion and it's my bloody opinion. The worst thing he did is what? So everyone lists their views etc I proved my points on here during his awful term to the posters who picked a new hate figure each week ... Finally MH went and everything was lumped on him. I know in a way that's the game but I am one who admires a club that sticks to its guns as I believe that sort of strategy will lead to more solid foundations ... How can we slag off Chelsea when we may even be on the same path . We now have possibly the best goalkeeper in the league and maybe still in the top three in the world Granero Park etc the list goes on These are outstanding players and they play for us I am sorry but I give credit to Hughes for that To answer the thread the worst thing he did was not get results or simply put he would still be here Madrid I mean you no harm even if you are a naughty Spanish sausage
Fair enough, if they really are your views. Have to agree to differ. I think Hughes was terrible and he could have set us back for years to come. Just my opinion.
I spy the Swordster having a crafty peak at this thread...........C'mon swordsie you know you want to say something.....
