****ing idiot. I was going to City matches 65 years ago probably long before you were born and have traveled tens of thousand miles to watch my team. "Real Hull people".???? I was born there and dodging Nazi bombs before I was five years old. Who the hell are you calling plastic!!!

And in case you want to know how I got tickets....I paid a bloody arm and a leg to get them.

If you need to borrow a wheelchair to help get about with your missing arm and leg, we've got an old one lying around at work <ok>

It is fantastic I agree. But isn't disappearing for years and then turning up for a final, more or less the exact definition of plastic? I know most on here will have reasons etc. so I'm not having a go at anyone but I'm more proud of the ones who go to every game home and away than someone who can travel a long way for a cup final. Or the guy above who lives in Kuala Lumpur but still gets to 8 games a season.

Thought long and hard about coming back for the final. I did my supporting in the 70s and 80s now i just follow city.
Left hull 20 years ago and for sure it would be great city at Wembly, i decided to leave that to todays supporters.

I am hugely impressed with the effort (and expense) from all those traveling thousands of miles to support the team <cheers>

I think most people class a plastic as someone who has just jumped on the bandwagon over the last few years since we've been in the PL. No one who was going when we were in Division 4 or lower leagues in general, left then coming back for a final should be called a plastic.
Ultimately it'll be the true plastics from the PL that'll keep the club going as it was with the lower league supporters over the years!

A 19 year old boy from Melbourne spent his savings to fly over for the game. Even though not from Hull, I don't think anyone can say a bad word about that sort of effort to attend the game.

No one can say a bad word about that effort, but I'm afraid it's possible for him to still be a plastic.

Think of being a plastic as an initiation period. There are ways to begin support of a top club and avoid having to do your time as a plastic, but if think all of those really would mean being of an age that you couldn't really accuse someone of being plastic.

I'm not saying he is plastic by the way, in fact given the circumstances I bet there is little to no chance he's a plastic, I'm just explaining that monumental effort to attend a cup final doesn't promote you from plasticity.

This is a mighty impressive thread. I thought I did alright back in 1973 (yes Sunderland, but sane) when I drove over from Germany on Friday night then back early Sunday morning. All respect to you travelers and it shows how the world is a much smaller place via travel, and of course the internet.

Good luck for tomorrow and just remember us, Southampton, Ipswich, Wimbledon, Coventry and of course Wigan.

if I lived the other side of the world, only an fa cup final cound entice me back just for a game, there's no way id choose to fly to see a city game, infact id probably never come home, the 12 hours of flying is utter and sheer hell
