Nope, never believed it in the first place, i'd love it to be true i just can't help feeling that we've been here before (on more than one occassion) despite his claims this time around that things are at a more advanced stage....we're yet to see evidence of this so until something is forthcoming I shall treat his latest mutterings with the pinch of salt that they quite rightly deserve.
Haven't quite worked out how we are at a more advanced stage than before. Staveley made 3 bids when she was trying to buy the Club so other than a bid being accepted how can we be further advanced than that?
I'd love Ashley to f*ck off immediately, however not at the expense of the club's financial security. The potential buyer/ buyers must have the cash at their disposal to fund NUFC going forward and not saddle the club with a sh!t load of debt. Unfortunately there's very few of those knocking about.
The potential buyers have fronted the money for a box (5 years). That's why it's more advanced. They have also entered due diligence, which she hadn't. Also Staveley's offers were either conditional, or unconditionally too low. She also didn't pay for the box, which Mike has said repeatedly has to be done. I suspect it'll be around mid-Jan before anything actually announces. Very similar timeframes to when Dubai bought Man City, took about 3 weeks from entering due diligence. Not ratified by the media, there have been claims that the new owners have submitted docs to the FA under NDA. There are considerably more real rumours around this one than previous years. The first time he tried to sell, he wanted a ridiculous sum of money. He'd just "paid" £134m and was asking for £250m, because he sucked up the borrowing instead of leaving a serviced overdraft. Nobody was going to pay it, but his ignorant stupidity/greed stopped it. Last year it was for sale a second time, but we'd only just come up and history tells us it's likely we'd go back down, particularly with no investment. Rafa proved otherwise, and as I said the Staveley bids were more of her trying to nab a bargain than Ashley's obstinance and NOBODY grabs a bargain from Fat Mike. Since then the FCB has come under severe pressures from his own board, from MP's and has also acquired stakes in Debenhans, HoF and continues to be linked with other failing high street outlets. He has a new mission, and it doesn't require NUFC advertising. HoF will not benefit from billboards. He sees himself as being able to go bigger with these high street names, and has not the time nor inclination to have a £300m drain on his account. His cash is mostly wallpaper, he needs funds so NUFC is VERY MUCH FOR SALE. It's nothing like previous years, for a number of reasons. The parties interested - such as Kenyon - have real integrity. Anybody got a quote from Kenyon denying all interest? No? Thought not. Hang tight, boys & girls. There be light at the end of yon tunnel.
Come on, Lord Jonjomort deserves more than meh for his fully reasoned points. Which I agree with his reasoning but I just cannot help not trusting it all. At least until it is signed and sealed.
The meh wasn't directed at Lord Jonjo just the subject as a whole. I'll get more interested once the sale is confirmed as happening. Until then meh it is.
There is the additional consideration that the club's value will suffer a significant hit if Rafa leaves, which he will in May if Ashley is the owner. We are always likely to stay up with Rafa at the helm We are likely to go down when he leaves. Making the club good enough to stay up without Rafa would require spending £50 - £100 million on players. The time to cash in is now.
Same. Whilst I welcome the return of Jonjo's posts my perspective is it's more bullshit until something concrete happens. Fans are already going down the road of posting google findings of company name changes or whatever, it all feels eerily similar.
He intends to stay a fat c*nt over the festive period. Actually that's a little harsh, he's anorexic and fighting it rather well.
Can we not get @Warm Pouch, our Not606 box dweller, to pop along at the next home game, to see who his new neighbours are then?
Charnley sits pretty close and I have to walk past Mikes big room to get out to my seat. I’ll check it out. For my two peneth I think this a load of ****e and just another ruse to excuse not buying anyone in the window. **** me do we ever learn. I love the lords reason but I call bullshit based on 10 years running the same scam.
I reckon Lord J is now officially ITK. He is either: 1) part of the buyout team 2) part of the selling team 3) a lawyer drafting the sale agreement 4) as big a bullshitter as Windy
