Exactly............. and it makes no sense. Why would you have such a valuable asset, that you want to offload and extract maximum return from and yet have absolutely no plan to protect that asset and maintain its maximum value. He gambles that we stay in the EPL, there is no planning for that. I just find it incredible and completely baffling and wonder where we are going to end up with this. We can all call Ashley a twat etc and that is all fair comment, but trying to get into his mind and see what his end game scenario is bewildering. He says that he wants to sell, but does nothing to facilitate a sale. He wants maximum return but does nothing to maintain its value. He goes from being AWOL for 18 months to turning up for half a dozen games on the trot to going AWOL again. He goes on SKY and gives strange and misleading interviews but claims that he hates publicity. I have a theory at least. His whole business plan has been taking over struggling businesses by driving such a hard bargain he really screws over the original owners. Including his parents. He believes the world is divided into winners and losers, the screwers-over and the screwed. He now finds himself on what he believes to be the receiving end. Newcastle are struggling. He’s receiving offers that are priced accordingly. He’s so afraid of being “the loser” that he’s willing to hold on, and take the risk of relegation, because he’d rather lose more money that way than feel screwed over in a business deal. It’s not rational, but it fits his history.

That is a decent rationale to be fair. I have always thought that everything is a pissing contest for Ashley and it's almost as if he desperately wants the sale but even more desperately does not want to look like he has the smaller cock.
