I think after the 20th is pretty realistic. Without Ashley connotations, SD advertising is one of those things. Horrid company with bastard of an owner, but who gives a toss? It's not like gambling companies, splashed everywhere, are particular moral. He won't move the goalposts, but that's a part of the problem I reckon. He's priced it too high and usually doesn't waver. Last year it was £300m, in full, no disclaimer. It's probably a little cheaper this year, because he trousered another £20m. So he'll sell for £280m.
I think my grandchildren are going to be on this forum in 30yrs time still talking about the same ****......knowing our luck the fat one will defy all medical logic and live until he’s 125
At that stage we will all have sports direct tattooed on our foreheads, it will be mandatory for fans!
Steve Howeys been on the radio to say someone he trusts as a very good source believes it’s a lot further advanced than people realise, that the PL have been informed and an announcement is to be made before the Man Utd game. Also rumours abound that Rafa is perhaps not part of the long term plan. Interesting question that - would you keep Rafa if we had ambitious new ownership? I just see a blossoming breed of new managers crucifying Rafas “style” of “football”. Ralph at Soton, Emery, Klopp, Howe, Poch all making the Jose’s and Rafas look very dated and out of touch.
Second is gossip, granted. First is from here, https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/play/p06t4xgf 19:50 onwards.
I’d keep Rafa for the first couple of years to see what he can do with some backing. He deserved that. Rafa will, as the more experienced manager put a better infrastructure in place for the club too (academy etc). Rafa can always then move upstairs and supervise all non playing related footballing matters. But howey is talking bull. Quinny said the staveley deal was a done deal last year and he was wrong.
Personally if we had new owners and they wanted a new manager I wouldn't have an issue with that even if we were then to be relegated and we started again from scratch. Rafa is doing a job to keep us up - it is working. But we will never do anything other than scrape by playing that way. Even under Pardew I felt yes we could get releagted but at the same time we could have a good season.
Thought they could of strung it out till at least the middle of Jan so it could be reasoned why no money was available for transfers etc
Nothing new in either 'story' to be honest. Both just regurgitating gossip and conjecture from a few weeks ago. I would have a teeny weeny bit more respect for journos if they said "actually we know **** all, all parties are playing it incredibly close to their chests and we are completely in the dark ..................................... so if and when Sky Sports News announce it, we will get on the back of that and claim an exclusive ..................................... but until then we are just printing ****e to fill column inches and appeal to a large chunk of the NE to boost sales" because that is far nearer the truth than any click bait stories that are being churned out now ................................... and i include Steve Howey in that ............................................... he knows **** all.
What a pile of bollocks from The Sun/Mirror or which ever one of these spastics came up with the story......as if someone with Kenyons stature would make a derisory offer like that knowing what the fat one is like!! What’s tomorrow’s headline going to be.....”Newcastle takeover on the brink as Elvis threatens to spunk all over John Beresford at New Year’s Eve ball”
