I wasn't expecting that result to be fair, so happy with the point. Yes it wasn't our finest performance, but it still wasn't as bad as the Southampton game. We made a lot of mistakes but we also made a few good blocks and saves too, so imo wasn't a totally bad performance, we did what was needed.

Just seen that Russ drove back to Norwich at midnight for the birth of his son, they made it make to Anfield in time to score that goal. What a day!

Chuffed to bits with that.

We would never have got it back to draw under Hughton. An unexpected point which may help at the end of the season.

Well done boys!

Ratings

Ruddy - 9. Superb. Couldn't do anything for the goal
Brady - 7. A good game, although guilty of falling asleep a couple of times and caught out of position, but links up fantastically with Jarvis
Bassong - 6. A tough game for him. Really kept having brain freeze in the second half, but grew into the game.
Martin - 7. One moment of horror in the first half shouldn't take away from an excellent performance in reading the game. Wonderful finish too.
Whittaker - 4. Really struggled. Repeatedly turned inside out and guilty of giving the ball away.
Tettey - 7. Was all over the pitch and very effective at breaking up play. Shame about the yellow card. It will be interesting to see how we fare without him...
Howson - 8. Bossed midfield. Couldn't quite find the final ball a couple of times, which was unlucky, but comfortably our best outfield player getting out of sticky situations and retaining the ball.
Dorrans - 7. Very solid performance, worked hard defensively. Also struggled to find that final ball.
Redmond - 6. Also worked very hard and lively, but generally fairly well marshalled by Liverpool
Jarvis - 7. As with Brady. Put in a real shift.
Jerome - 6. Looked tired early and didn't get involved much, because he was shepherded well by Can and Skrtel.

Grabban - 5. Energetic.
O'Neil - 5. Helped make the last five minutes or so relatively panic free (despite a ludicrous four mins added time...)

Neil - 8. A point at Anfield is nothing to complain about, and with Liverpool having several players returning it could have been very difficult, but he engineered a good performance and we still managed to be creative. Needs to look at our team going to sleep so regularly though.

Norwich hero Russell Martin is talking to the media down in the Anfield tunnel - and reveals he arrived late in Merseyside today after dashing home for the birth of his son! The arrival of a child and the equaliser at Anfield. If cheap Danish lagers made dream days!!!!!
Just seen that Aberdeen have now notched up 8 straight wins and are 5 points clear at the top of the table. Will it last????
