    Happy enough with that.I just use this forum for Saints news and debate, nothing else. I ramble on about useless crap on the others!

    Maybe have a stickied ot chat thread and also a not stickied ot thread which will be closed after 24 hours assuming it doesn't reach a certain number of posts in that 24 hours. If it exceeds that number of posts then it earns another 24 hours. That way the popular threads that deserve to be there longer are kept for longer?

    The 24 hr thread would be interesting...the Armstrong thread would come under that. The chat thread would suit many, though it would mean I would miss good stuff because there is no way I would go near it as I know how degenerate and childish such things become. The problem which you will never overcome on a football forum is that you get too many men posturing as they can't accept different opinions without feeling threatened and then in turn become threatening.

    Nothing wrong with the principle of what you say....however if you get something like the word association thread thats popular presumably you would not be able to start another ot thread because you are at your OT limit.

    Perhaps a maximum number of extra 24 hours its allowed to earn before it must be closed?

    Update on suggestions
    As a debating point all current suggestions below


    Lots of football forums I'm on have just a 'chat thread' stickied where we can talk about any old bollocks.
    Any further ideas what about this one........

    Another idea submitted by Beefy.............How about we have one stickyed O/T for general chit chat that is kept and one more O/T thread that is based on a subject that lasts 24 hours?.

    Why not have three different levels of moderated off topic threads.

    1 Strictly moderated with no squabbling allowed.

    2 Mildly moderated with reasoned earthy debate.

    3 Not moderated at all, bar the usual racist etc stuff, with full on sweary insults.

    4 Would be GC, if none of that works for you.
