    Yes, the 1970 FIFA World Cup Finals in Mexico. The only other tournament without a dismissal was in Brazil 1950.

    2018 could very well mirror 1970 in one way. Everybody is suggesting the knock-out rounds are imbalanced between the two halves of the draw in the current tournament. In 1970 West Germany were knackered after their match against England, Italy were then f****d after their semi final win over West Germany (widely considered to be the best WC game of all time) and consequently Brazil had a bit of a stroll in the final. Is it possible that Belgium, Brazil, France and Uruguay sh*g each other out and one of Croatia, England or Colombia have just enough left to win the final.

    Just the musings of a bourbon sodden auld tosser!

    Ma heid has definitely 'gone' today; should have been Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Got mixed up between our 'feeder' clubs in the Rhein-Ruhr-Gebiet.
