    Firstly, it would be the soviet union(USSR), not Russia in those days and also, although east germany was formed in 1949 I think, I'm not sure if they would have been a member of FIFA. 1950 kind of gives a hint because of the war, so the 2 main baddies were Germany and Japan, so I will go for them. Not sure if Germany would have been known as west germany in those days though, I suppose they would have been if there was an east germany, but maybe that came later, or just maybe I think about things too much. So, Chris, final answer, Germany(possibly West, but doubtful) and Japan.
