People who say things like "Footballs not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that". It's a game FFS. That and the likes of Sky hyping every game played. "It's Monday night. The heavens have opened and its rain of biblical proportions outside. Prepare for a clash of titans on the field of dreams as we bring you........ Stoke vs Hull!"

    The actual premier League .
A competition with so little competitiveness , the same old teams winning, top 4 , Champs league, buying the best.
90% of the time 4/5 teams winning everything but Joe Public given the hard sell of the worlds greatest competition.
Just another round of the same so.

Club owners that want to be in the spotlight (Brady, Gold and Sullivan being the obvious case)
The FA's definition of a Fit & Proper Person, which allows unfit and improper people to turn clubs into financial basket cases
Kit manufacturers deciding to be "creative" when designing a club's kit churning out an Eldritch abomination that fans have to look at for the next nine months

Nike take the piss with the pink right foot and baby blue left foot that various players at the WC are wearing - doubly so the goalkeepers, who also have to wear a pink left glove and a baby blue right glove.

AVB, just because he is widely known as AVB. If he was a DJ, music producer then it would be acceptable but no other manager in world football is openly called by their (part) initials (forming an acronym). SAF (in print for the lazy) but would you say "Manchester United manager SAF". No. AVB, wrong on so many levels, embarrassing. His name is Luís Andre de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas. Out of that you could use Villas-Boas. Why wasn't he referred to simply as Villas-Boas?. Hardly difficult to pronounce! who started AVB? who was responsible? (the English press). They need to also go in room 101!

    Silly Brazilian nicknames.

    Fred? Hulk? Oscar?

Do they watch a lot of old kids TV. Is there a Barney, Wilma or TC somewhere?

The Brazil Myth - banging on about the 1970 or 1982 teams ad nauseum is the reason they're the biggest cheats in international football. The same can be said for the Dutch - the 1974 and 1988 teams were a long time ago, the Battle of Nuremberg and the 2010 WC Final weren't.

  14. Actually, there is quite a lot in common between Brazil and 'Pool.

I'm sure I heard a commentator call Hulk, "The Hulk". Now that is silly.

I don't know, Brazil's tactics are more reminiscent of Chelsea's.

It's telling that it took something as bellended as Rivaldo's tumble against Turkey before anyone even considered that Brazilian players might be prone to diving and play-acting. Anyone who watched Football Italia regularly knew that Ronaldo was a blatant diver.

  17. When fans (of a certain type of club), sing that rather plaintive anthem - "It's just like watching Brazil!" - they should qualify it, as follows:-

"It's just like watching Brazil (of the 1960s and 1970s)!"

Admittedly, it won't have quite the same flowing meter, but it will, at the very least, have the benefit of being accurate.*

*And when I say "accurate," I do not, of course, make any admission that the likes of Scunthorpe United, Hull City, Basingstoke, or Enfield Town (to name but a very small few) do actually play like Brazil, whether from the 1960s, 1970s, or at any other time in that Nation's admission to the World footballing family, and the tuneless entreaties of the hapless and witless fans of those clubs will never convince me otherwise. Thank you.

I am back with one or two I forgot last time
    61) trainers no longer running on with a bucket of cold water and a dirty sponge...one player had it shoved down his shorts when he was kicked in the nuts and then 5 mins later a plaer has it pushed in his face after being elbowed... thats why plaers never faked injuries back in the day
    62) being old enough to remember the mexican wave first time round
    63) being old enough to remember trevor francis being the first £1m transfer
    64) boring or ****ish ex pros being pundits
    65) jason cundy
    66) the lack of birth control used by mr and mrs cundy
    67) the fact cundy played in a spurs shirt
    68) the fact I am old enough to remember him scoring for spurs for 45 yards ... byhaving a ball hit at him and it rebounding in over the keepers head
    69) fifa promoting healthy eating and living ... and then promoting McDonald's and coke
    70) fans turning up at their clubs training ground on the final day of the transfer window just to get on sky sports
    71) soccer...its football so **** right off
    72) grown adults crying on the final day of the season...ffs grow up....and find a cat to kick
    73) people spending so much time trying to figure out the problem with the England team...we is seriously **** so get over it
    74) blaming too many foreign players in the prem for england being ****...but ignoring how few foreigners there were in 74 and 78 when we failed to qualify, and in 88 and 92 when we were embarrassingly **** in the euros, in 94 when we failed to qualify and in 08 when the golden generation failed to qualify
    75) people still going on about Maradona s hand ball 28 yrs ago...ffs...it was 28 yrs ago...get over it
    76) the fact that a corrupt fa stole our league place and gave it to the woolwich wanderers 95 years ago...a huge footballing injustice
    that should never be forgotten
    77) rio ferdinand trying to sound like barry white
    78) football autobiographies....at the age of twenty two....really? **** off sonny and come back when youve been outta your daddies ball bag a lot longer!
    79) people not understanding that football excisted before the premier league
    80) the champions league...it aint... its the champions, runners up, runner runners up and runner runner runners up league
