Nothing like £5m Brentford have a brand new stadium in the middle of one of the most expensive parts of London , and a guaranteed £180m in the piggy bank from PL money incl parachute money. That’s before you even get to their squad value - a squad full of international footballers. £400m is very realistic. CAFC on the other hand have what ? Leaburn - £1m if we are lucky. The rest can’t be worth much, if anything. Assets - all we own is the chicken hut in the car park (that’s probably on lease as well).
Sadly true. I still think that a ham-fisted new owner could very easily ruin the successful formula at Brentford. They could fall from grace just like we did. If I was a Brentford fan I would be worried about news that my Club was up for sale. Brentford do not have a magic shield around them that will protect them from harm. Many of their fans may think they have, but they don't. Many of our fans probably thought we had something similar before Curbs left.
A guy called Benham(?) has sorted Brentford out. I think he was there in 2014 when we played them opening day of the season. We have gone in opposite directions since then.
The myth of Pep has finally been exploded. Must admit I thought I'd never see the day. He has no answer. All that money, all that power. Even above the laws that every other Club has to obey. But now Clubs have tweaked that Man City have a soft underbelly and they can be beaten - and beaten in style. An early Christmas present Long may it continue! "Sacked in the morning..."
I must say that I like watching City, they are a joy to watch. This season is a blip, but do not be surprised to see them win something.
According to the Daily Telegraph the new host of Match of the Day is going to be.... Kelly Cates. Daughter of Kenny Dalglish. She works for Sky Sports at the moment apparently. @Charles No Likes Hawtrey won't be best pleased I suspect I could have put this in the TV & entertainment thread I guess, but since it is football related it can go here.
Plymouth are going down unless they sack Shrek tonight. Why did they give that fat Granny-Grabber a job in the first place? Everyone knew it would be a disaster.
How he was given a gig down there is beyond me, after his last three posts failed I thought that would be it.
It's almost as if Plymouth wanted to be relegated. The bloke is a f**king liability. Some star-struck idiot in a suit to blame I assume. Their fans must be despairing.
I have been on one of their boards over the past few weeks, amazingly enough they are not as angry as you would think, although the general view is that he needs to go if they have a poor Christmas.
Am watching my first live premiere league game of the season (Liverpool vs Leicester) - how people can watch this sh*t is beyond me. VAR is so anti-football
All day long, f*** that. Paying a minimum of £50 to watch c**** that will not even sign an autograph when being paid millions.
