Plymouth sack their gaffer https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68709008 As long as they don't come after Nathan Jones...
He's on a 4.5 year contract. Not only that, he has to rebuild his reputation after Stoke and Southampton. No need to worry about losing him.
Yes, I think NJ will be with us for the foreseeable future. Providing that the owners do actually back him with the required funding. And it won’t be cheap. At present we are a long way away from being promotion candidates.
Ex Manyoo legend Roy Keane says Erling Haaland's play is so poor he's almost like a League Two player https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68714608
Appointing Jones I think saw a lot of changes behind the scenes, it would be nice to think he has the FINAL say on players coming in. If so, hopefully we can see brighter times, a low bar having said that.
Agreed too. Even though both are over the hill, they are 'showbiz' signings. Players with past fame, albeit relatively minor and faded. Smell like cheap PR stunts.
What the f**k is the matter with some so-called football fans? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68759573 And when is the Spanish FA going to do something about the abuse this young man is getting? When I see how diverse our squad is this season, and has been for years, it makes me proud to support Charlton. Yes, some of our players aren't much good. But that has nothing to do with their ethnic backgrounds. Why do so many morons think it's clever to spout racist abuse? This poison should have been on its way out 50 years ago.
The Spanish FA are a pretty corrupt bunch. I'd imagine a few on here remember that infamous friendly against Spain a few years back following some fairly racist comments from their manager Luis Aragones prior to the game, when the whole stadium spent the whole 90 minutes making monkey noises. It's an ongoing problem. As an aside, that idiot who forced a kisson a Spanish player after the women's World Cup final is now being investigated for bribes and kick backs around the building of the new stadium in Seville, and moving the Spanish super cup to Saudi Arabia. Looking forward to the guy being sent down.
More like the next I actually love this picture. To think, this berk was actually an investor in CAFC. I wish we had a jerking off smiley but this one will have to do Crypto = crime. They are probably laundering that money.
Terrible news about a crash involving football fans... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-68806386 Get well soon those supporters who were injured, and anyone else involved who was hurt. It looks really nasty. Amazing that nobody was killed.
Everything that is wrong with Chelsea, in one incident. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68823174 They might be able to stuff sorry Everton 6-0. But they'll never achieve lasting success while their top players squabble like 6 year olds over who takes a penalty What a bunch of muppets. No kind of example whatsoever.
I should think so too... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68818485 The Premier League risks making itself a laughing stock. A decision must come before the last day of the season. I assume Everton cannot appeal the appeal finding. It would be ironic if the appeal panel decides to increase the deduction, and Everton go down because of that.
Embarrassing. Fair play to Connor Gallagher though - he stepped in and sorted it out, but had to physically shove players away to do so. Long gone are the days when we signed loanees like Connor. For all the criticism of Lyle Taylor and Chris Solly for causing our relegation, if Chelsea hadn’t recalled Connor in January we’d have never gone down. And who knows how things would have turned out after that.
Just played this back, taking penalties and scoring must enjoy a goal bonus. It was embarrassing to watch.
As one pundit said, when Chelsea had a penalty recently in the last minute of a tight game and the pressure was on, they weren't all fighting to takethe penalty. Fine when they are 4-0 up.
