Huge celebration at Manu for finishing 4th. Shows how the so-called champions league has corrupted values.
100%. This should be failure, I have always considered United to be in the top 3 as biggest team in the world.
Ah, yes my mistake. It’s great to see this tbh. Promoted teams should be able to survive for a few years until they can establish themselves. Interesting also though on my point. With parachute payments, it’s widely believed that relegated teams have a huge advantage in getting immediately promoted back up. But only one of the three achieved it this season. Perhaps parachute payments are not all bad after all, otherwise we would see even more teams in serious financial difficulties following relegation from the prem.
A couple of mates of mine who support Dartford saw them play at Luton when the two sides were in the National league. Dartford ran out with a 2-0 away win, and the team were applauded off the pitch by the Luton fans, which is pretty generous considering a team like Luton would be expected to thrash Dartford. Always nice to see a bit of noble behaviour from football fans - we ain't as bad as we're painted.
I reckon every club that doesn't have massive financial resources has a shelf life in the Premiership. Regular hidings from the rich clubs take their toll. Not long ago Leicester were flying high look at them now. Brentford and Brighton have reached the glass ceiling, let's see how long before the big money teams pick off their outstanding managers and players.
Being relegated might have actually helped Everton in the longer term. Now all the bunglers running the Club have another 12 months to keep their jobs and cover their arses. I fully expect Everton to be in the bottom 4 or 5 all next season. Palarse down next season with any luck...
Fingers crossed for Carlisle away at the end of the season. No reason, just feels like a nice way to finish the season.
Have never been a fan of Luton, a horrible town but at least easy to get to. Other than that, am pleased for the supporters after all the crap they have been through.
Unfortunately guvnor I very much doubt it. Sheff United and Luton will struggle badly, with Bournemouth not too far from them as well.
